As we await the draw for the first round of the biggest amateur competition, which begins next month, the questions will go out. Can Fairview Rangers bounce back? Will Pike Rovers or Killester finally deliver on their promise? Can Waterford Crystal retain the cup? Were Westport United, Castlebar Celtic, Athenry and Galway Hibs one hit wonders or serious contenders again? What about Ballynanty, Carew Park, St. Michaels, Peake Villa, Evergreen, Ballymun, Portmarnock, Mervue United, Carrick Utd, Clonmel Town? Do you write these teams in or out? Any team capable of causing an upset? Will there be controversy in the competition? Between September 17th 2006 and May 13th 2007, a lot of football will be played and a lot of questions will be answered. Let the games commence!!
Never play leapfrog with a unicorn!!
if any of the tipp teams deserve one then surely it has to be st michaels, reports suggest that they're gonna be very strong again this year.
Town and Peake have been knocking on the door for a few years also. I watched St michaels play mid-week and nothing would suggest that they were more improved than last year. Padraig "Foggy" Fogarty has left, but Paul Tobin has returned at left back which is a great boost for them. A lot of youth players featuring. I didn't see any new signings. But it was only the 2nd game of the season so a lot more to come from them.
Does anyone know if you can get betting odds on this years competition yet?
