On Mousset he may need time to get to full match fitness but he seems more than capable of scoring goals at this level and that's something that's really needed in the Bohs squad. Having him and Whelan as options could be about as good as we can hope for. I think the squad is starting to shape up nicely if he is signed.
I think if Bohs sign Mousset he'll complete the squad and we'll be ok (not dodging relegation) like last year

Seems to have been a reasonably good performance by Kerry this afternoon, scoreless with Shamrock Rovers at HT, Mandroiu gave the Tallaght side the lead on 55 minutes, before two late goals in the final ten made the final score 3-0.

Six friendly games over the last two days between Premier and 1st Division clubs, with only Rovers winning vs Kerry. Most Premier teams seem to have split their squads though.

Cork probably champions of the pre-season so far. Suddenly, it's hard to see them finishing in the relagation spots. Maguire should get double digits and more this year.

Cathal O'Sullivan is one to watch as well.

You would think Elding with Sligo too.

Excited to see Tommy Lonergan and Mipo Odubeko in the league. Both scored today. Potentially add that fella with Bohs, and there might be a couple of teams with out and out goalscorers - something this league normally really struggles with.

Cathal is extremely talented. But he'll be gone by summer.
There are definitely concerns about our defense. I wouldn't be so sure were gonna be safe yet.

A lot of DFC fans were not happy with this, my view, its fine from a fans site - absolute banter, but never from an official site, need to keep standards, and this clearly fell short.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

Well said. Speaking as a Drogheda fan, it's what I'd expect from a fans' site (and that's fine), but to put up stuff like this on the official Dundalk website is pathetic.

I'd pay limited attention to pre-season friendlies to be honest. Especially one between clubs in different levels/divisions. They're the one and only games in football where the result doesn't actually matter and isn't the main objective.

0-5 to Bohs in Athlone. Completely different team to yesterday's 0-5 win vs Longford. Cornwall, Clarke, Rhys Brennan, Devoy(p) and Mousset with the goals. Mousset also won the peno.

Pat's 4-0 UCD in Richmond. Hoare, Keena, Kavanagh and Palmer with the goals.

UCD played some tidy stuff at times and have a few lads with good physical attributes, but ultimately didn't get much going outside of their own half of the pitch. Pat's played in patches, one or two performances were a bit off but that's what pre-season is for I suppose. On the other side of that Keena looks particularly sharp, beauty of a finish but even outside of that he looks fully settled going into this season.

I just think it's good we are scoring goals, hopefully it will continue. Hopefully Mousset will realize he can be a big fish in a little pond and has the opportunity to become a cult hero, a Georgie Kelly of sorts.

Great win for Ramblers tonight, showed great character to come back. I reckon around 1,300 at it.
As an aside Cathal O'Sullivan was the stand out player, an absolute baller

Agree on UCD, they’re a much bigger team than the usual small/skinny type UCD teams, which comes with the territory of having the youngest squad in the league every year I guess. Some decent players in there, I don’t think they’ll win the league but they should make the playoffs

What's better is we were scoring goals without a striker for the first few games. A striker is a necessity for most styles of play but other players should be contributing with goals as well. I believe Rooney was our top goal scorer w/ 8 in all comps last year but he had a few penos in there. I think we didn't just have a striker problem but we had an overall goal problem all of last season.

Waterford beat Treaty United 4 2 last night in Munster senior cup. Waterford had a strong team out. All the goals came in the 2nd half with 3 of Waterfords goals coming from corners taken by Conan Noonan.
Around 400 there on a cold night.

Pats beat Athlone 3-1 at Abbotstown today. Mix of squad players and u20s played. Goals from Matty O'Hara, Billy Hayes and Tom Grivosti for Pats, with Jay McClelland missing a peno. Kyle Robinson with a well taken goal for Athlone. Kian Leavy was among the rest of the squad watching, but he was in a protective boot which doesn’t look promising that he’ll be available for a number of weeks I'd say
