as one of those who was happy to see the demise of a developers plans I am a little insulted as the implecation in your question is that I would revel at the end of any of these programs.however i would argue that is was in fact the reckless running of this club that jepodised these programs.
I hope and am sure that fingal co co continue to assist these teams/groups if possible
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now

No point in arguing over these things. The thread will just decend into lunacy like so many others. It would be a shame if any of these other projects are affected by SF demise and the blame would lie solely with the club if they are.
good luck to the Fingal fans and i hope that SFFC can find a way to stay around in some fashion and restart from a solid base.

I think Phil joined up as the commercial manager to source funding for the club, they have a lad Stephen who runs the community side of the club, he worked for the community trust and ran the programmes they designed.
Either way its all academic now they're all out of a job and they join the other 400,000 on the dole. its a shame and a sad day for soccer in fingal and the wider community. hopefully some sort of amatuer set up can be resurrected to save us. we need a club in fingal regardless how small they are to begin with.
Its official they have ceased trading,
I want to wish Sporting Fingal supporters all the best as well. It's sad to see the demise of any club.
It's a shame the FAI seem intent on bringing the curtain down on the A Championship. It'll have been the best platform for Fingal to rebuild again on what I believed was it's core value: the long-term development of soccer in Fingal.
So is it Monaghan or Drogheda who come up?
Amazing that it could come to an end so quickly. Feel sorry for their fans, including the guys on here who seemed genuinely passionate about the club. The *******s went bust before we could ever beat them too!
This collapse shows the complete inadequacies of the FAI,s financial regulations another mess that the paper will love, feel sorry for the genuine Fingal fans the club could have done some good in the fingal area but instead they decided to take the easy road and throw money at it and spend spend spend, its a been a wasted opportunity for football in north county dublin, the blame has to go with Gannon,Buckley and the other directors of the club, they constructed a house built on sand for quick success and imo they got what they deserved the Fans of the club who traveled up and down the country will be a loss to the league we need more of them in this country so if people gloat think how you would feel if your club died on this day!
I just dont understand, with all the clubs on the northside of the city why didn't they just invest the money into an existing club? It was a real 'crash bang' affair with the average Joe on the street asking "what just happened there?". Any club that starts up like that, focusing on players and results instead of the club, its infrastructure, its contribution to its community and striving to spend less that they make is pretty much doomed.
When will LOI learn these lessons?
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
Its sad to see any club go out of business. Will this affect Bohs as well as they are counting on rent from Sporting Fingal.
as far as i know rocketman, it wont. We apparently were supposed to and did receive some of the payment upfront. The rest was receiveable over the remaining years of the deal. I cant confirm that we did receive the payment however.

Who will I hate now?
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
Delighted to see to go bust.
I know a certain team on the richmond road who would be happy to take on a few extra supporters this season, and a few players too if they're going
Weaseling out of things is important to learn, it's what seperates us from the animals!! Well... except for the weasel.
