"Approximately 40pc of the population of Fingal lives in Dublin 15. We have long been conscious of the fact that Santry is not an easy place to get to from this area. Phibsborough, however, is readily accessible by public transport from most parts of the county."

More comical ali talk from Fingal ...

If Bohs with their "success" cant make a go of it financially and get decent crowds into Dalymount, what hope have Fingal minus Gannons cash got?

They haven't. I think they've realised that Morton is awful and in the absence of home fans they're hoping that more away fans will head to Dalymount

Hilariously, next yer it'll cost Bohs fans €20 to watch Bohs v Fingal and €10 to watch Fingal v Bohs

Didn't Dublin City play in Dalymount the year they folded?

Funny alright. 4 times next season they are going to come head-to-head in Dayler. Fingal can offer Boh's fans two for the price of one.

I don't suppose you have attendance figures going back that far but it'd be interesting to see if DC had much variation in crowds between Whitehall, Dalymount and also Inchicore was it?

It just sounds like Fingal are clutching at straws to justify this move. The only benefits will be for away fans who won't have to stand on that terrace in Santry.

I think the attendance threads go back to about 2003. Links should be in the resources sticky at the top of the forum. But to be honest, it'd be impossible to say if any differences were down to location as much as away support changes.

Isn't it lovely to see the trolls out eagerly salivating for another club to collapse. Really guys, it's depressing the negativity on show, no wonder our league is in the merde with such great fans, if only there were actual supporters out there. Good luck to them in Dalyer, and I hope Bohs are Premier too as it'll be a better venue with more action.

I would regret the demise of bohs and most other clubs from the LOI however I do not feel the same for fingal as a club that was established for reasons other than football and attempted to buy success.
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now

I hate to be the one to point it out to you, however since it was a response to my post it's just kind of normal. You've just said Fingal were established for reasons other than football, true, they play a large role in a number of community development programmes and initiatives that have been very successful - I've personal experience of this in the area my parents live in. So true on that one.

Your regret the demise of Bohs, but not Sporting Fingal - because you veer towards the latter buying their way to success. Hmm, odd that, I thought the ott contracts, bank loans and squandering of the good will and support of loyal supporters would be classed as attempting to buy success. Similar to Shels, Cork, Derry etc. Or is there another reason why you'd prefer to see a league club go out of existence?

If they did manage to secure any new supporters from Dublin 15, what happens when they go to Lusk?

and have long-term plans to move to Lusk -- although the club are currently engaged in a search for investment that could impact upon their future, after the loss of main benefactor Gerry Gannon
How do they access the arsehole of Lusk from D15?

    On the brink
Lack of finance could spell the end for Sporting Fingal

    By Robin KIELY
    Wednesday December 22 2010

SPORTING Fingal FC could be on the brink of extinction in its current form, just three years after it was established, unless a new investor is found, the Fingal Independent can reveal. The club's general manager, Joe Corr, stepped down from his post before the weekend, which followed the resignation of chairman Gerry Gannon last month.

Again, if some kind individual with access or a scanner can throw the full story up that would be nice

With Bohs so dependent on this Dalyer rent money Sporting Fingal's death could kill Bohs in one fell swoop!

Joe will be a loss alright. Very good for the club and always had the best interests of the club at heart.

They sit in a nice new stadium watching football.

Down the M50 and the M1 and follow the signs to Lusk.

Dublin City had more in the first division in whitehall. There was over 2,000 at the last game against Bray in whitehall for the promotion . Fair enough it was swelled by a large Bray support which seems to be more than they have regulary now but it also seemed to be more home fans as well than there had been when Dublin city was in the premier. Fingal's attendance is already far greater than what city's was. there is a genuine reason for the move and not just based on trying to improve attendance.
