Excellent result today by Clonmel in the Complex. To put the Champions out is a massive achievement and puts the early season problems that they had right behind them. They'll surely regret the possibility of leaving another league title behind them, before September was out.
What's happened Clonmel Celtic ? They went from being probably the best team in the league early in the season, to free fall when the heat has come on. I feel sorry for them to be honest, would have been nice to see them carry on the early season form throughout the year.
Well done to St Michaels. Looks like they still know how to win a cup game, especially after the hiccup in Carrick last weekend. But, its another much more daunting trip to Carrick in the next round is it not ? Might be the end of their Cup hopes.
And are Peake finally going to get their hands on the title they so obviously crave ? Another three points carved out today in Cahir, and with the majority of the games left to play at home, some against teams with Cup's on their mind, and no outside Cup worries for themselves. It could be their year. I am not backing them however, because that would be the kiss of death.
Relegation time. Anyone willing to call that one yet ? Bridge now only 3 points behind Cahir, but with a game in hand. I'd call Cahir to survive, but have they to play each other again before the end of the season. That'll go to the wire.
And finally, my own club, Cashel Town. Another good win today, bringing us up to a very very healthy 21 points. Without question our best Premier league year in a long long time. We might not be ready to beat the big boys on a regular basis just yet (though we are the only blot on Peake's season so far), but after all the early season hype has died down, we can look back and say that we've done really well. Plenty to build on, and when you think of some of the draws we've had, where we left points behind us, we could have really made an impression in the final standings. Overall though, great season so far. Hopefully we can finish on a high and build again to go even better in the seasons ahead.
Was at both games yesterday. Had Celtic scored the penalty it may have been a different game. What Craig Condon was thinking off only he knows. It was a stupid and reckless tackle, he could have broken the Michael's players leg. Is that the second game in a row he has been sent off?He can have no complaints. Once saints got the 2nd goal, it was game over. They could have scored five. Big test for Celtic now against Boro next week.
Town were great. Everyone of the players played their part. Raymie and John Shanahan were super. However Ian Barnes and Darren Burns were outstanding, they left everything out on the field. Town deserved to go through. It was a huge result for them. Felt sorry for the Ballymun lad who missed, he was distraught at the end. Still that’s sport. For Town, it keeps the season going. Well done to one and all. You wouldn't bet against them now
You are spot-on; you wouldn't bet against Clonmel Town winning it now. Strange thing is though, last year they had a much better and more balanced side in my opinion.
Don't think you should have any reason to feel sorry for Celtic, rock. They may have come up short in the FAI and have a huge test in Munster next Sunday but they can still be content with their run in both these cups. You can't expect them to come from nowhere last year and suddenly be challenging for the FAI and Munster. They are still in a good postion to defend the Tipperary Cup, with Villa gone and either Town or Michaels soon to join them and despite recent setbacks they are not totally out of the league either. If they can build on this season and take it a step further next year that's progress. At the start of the year I am sure they would have been happy with a run in the big cups, to challenge for the league and have a go at defending their Tipperary Cup so all in all I think they can be pleased so far. I would imagine Cashel set their sights a bit lower, no offence intended, as there main aim would have been to retain their league status which they have comfortably done although I'm not too sure how you fared in the cups. To say Celtic are in freefall I think is a bit of an exaggeration.
However as I said no need to feel sorry for Celtic!!
definatly no need to feel sorry for celtic, they went out to a good michaels side so no shame there. speaking of saints credit where its due to the club looks like there youths are gonna win youth league, there juniors the premier league and there b team look like winning division 1 league not to mention other cup competitions there still in, so definatly a big improvement from saints compared to last few years

another convincing win for cashel sunday....there is no doubt the club belongs at this level....i hope the players continue to push on and get as many points as possible and see how high up the table we can finish....congrats to clonmel town....a great scalp and i dont think anyone would bet against them going all the way now....especially with a favourable draw now in Killarney

I heard here in Cahir this avo, that the LOI Friendly between Cork City V Waterford Utd scheduled for Sat @ 2:30 in Cahir Park has been changed to Sporting Fingal V Waterford due to the demise of Cork. It's to celebrate Cahirs centenary and Fingal are bringing their Div One Champions Trophy and the FAI Cup which they won last season. Should be a great day out. Bring the kids and support the Club!

i see on the nationalist this week theres talks of a new club forming in tipp town, would be good for the league i suppose . there is definatly enough players in tipperary to get another team going

the unusual thing is that the majority of st michaels players are not actually from tipp town. if you look at teams from clonmel the players are mostly from clonmel town itself. if there were only one club in clonmel, as there is in tipperary, then it would be an extremely strong side.
It would be good for the league in general if a second team emerged from Tipp town. The more teams the better! Clonmel has 5 teams and Cahir have 2 teams so why not Tipperary town. As bishbash said the majority of St Michaels players are not from Tipp town so im sure there are plenty of decent players there looking for a chance like this.
The hardest part might be getting somewhere to play. If I remember Saints went to the council looking for help when they needed a second pitch some years ago and got nowhere. I see the new club have also asked the council to help them. Hope they have a plan B.
Just read the write up on the paper and i hope the council can accomodate them. They seem to have a committee in place and fundraisers and sponsers in the pipeline so they seem determined to make this happen so the best of luck to them.

How do they look like winning the league? 3 teams all with realistic chances still and will go down to the wire. The B team are 4 points behind the leaders and will drop to 3 rd if Wilderness win their game in hand
just wondering how craig condon was allowed play yesterday after be given a straight red last week- should he not be automatically suspended
He was sent off in the FAI Junior cup. Yesterdays game was in the Munster Junior cup. If you get knocked out of one then the suspension is served in local competitions. You can draw all the attention you like to it, he was eligible to play.
