So Derry aren't yet confirmed a first division place? When does it all get sorted out and you's know where you's are playing next season?
Two weeks? That's pretty late, no? Meh, that's the FAI.
Does this mean that there will be a chance for Cork or Galway to stay in the Premier?

"I've detected a feel-good factor when people are talking about the season ahead and I think there will be a buzz about the place"
Sounds like Derry are moving on and are positive about the future
Aye, shocking...
It's shocking that fans of a club who went to the wall are looking forward to the forthcoming season considering that three months ago there was little or no chance of senior football in Derry.
A new club has been formed and probably 98-100% of the previous club's fans will weigh in behind the new club.
One thing's for sure though and that's the 3 points to Derry for each match we play the harps this year, some things never ever change!
How could this 'never ever change' when this new club based in derry havent played harps yet?
Btw do this new club in derry have to make a new application for special permission to play in the league from uefa or fifa or whoever had to give the previous club in derry permission seen as they're not in the republic of ireland? Genuine question btw as they are a brand new club, and i havent seen it mentioned anywhere

DAN CONNOR HATES CITY, HE HATES LANGERS
It is a valid question. Unfortunately, nobody actually knows anything about the issue, so we ended getting stuck on the one question which is obviously important, but which no-one could answer, so it kept getting asked again and pointed out how important it was, but no-one could answer, so...
Bottom line, the thread got bogged down on that whole issue, so it was locked for a few days and restarted with the notion that what will happen over the border issue will happen, that internet discussion won't actually change any of it and that if anyone had any actual real information, feel free to post away.
This argument hides the real issue of cheating. Stephen Kenny will (may) be allowed to go unpunished and be allowed to be employed in football despite the dual contracts of last season! If indeed he didn't know anything about this, brand new shinny no cheating derry city football and greyhound racing club should claim some kind of disability allowance for employing the man!
Get it outta ye.....!
On the re-igniting of the tiresome IFA point, surely if Derry City do get a license (and therefore are de facto members of the FAI), the whole IFA thing is a moot point?
The issue of creditors is a separate issue, and I hope all valid creditors get paid as much as possible.
P.S. Mr. Parker, now that Wellvan's administrator has formally published the full list of declared creditors, how much are Cliftonville owed on it? The Journal article only listed the top few in any detail (Revenue, BoI etc.).
I would imagine if the papers have details of the biggest creditors and a fairly exact total amount, per the Derry Urinal link above, that all creditors have been notified whether or not they are a creditor, what the value of their claim is, and how they rank in preference.
Have Cliftonville received any communication from the administrator?
In other news, Mark Farren has signed, with a few more to follow this week.
Barry Molloy is on trial with Bristol Rovers, they've arranged a match on the 25th of January in order to have a look at him. He has a few other options back in Ireland, including a contract offer from Derry.
