What a class act!........his performance at the back was the most pleasing thing...and the goal was gravy. Let's hope he carries this form forward to the weekend. I'm confident he will.

that's 3 of the last 6 goals conceded by City that were headers, plus two free headers Berbatov stuck straight at Shay Given.

    On Sky Sports:-

    £25 million Lescott awarded a 5
    £6 Dunne awarded a 9.

fair paly to him as has beensaid lets for more of the same from him in the Green jersey...slightly off topic but £25 million for Lescott has to be the most ridiculous transfer fee ever in a sport of crazy transfer fees!!

Was delighted to see Dunnie play so well, and that lack of celebration was another touch of class from the gentle giant,Defo the best centre back on the pitch last night and is shoulders above that lescott. Although dunnies distribution wasn’t great he knew it, lescott actually thinks he can play ball which is quite a travesty.

However having watched almost every city match in the last 2 years I do think he was alot more motivated as i honestly cant remember the last time he attacked a corner like that for us. Hopefully he will carry form/confidence into Saturday and slam one past the Italians

Didn't see the game but I heard Dunne scored last night for Villa and against his old team as well. What was his celebration like? Muted or elated?

We need him firing on all cylinders for the two forthcoming games and the play-offs (if we get to them).
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

MOTM performance, no question. made some great interceptions and challenges, scroed a great header and was very close with another.

When interviewed after the game he was asked "so will you be having a drink with your former team mates tonight?" to which the honeymonster replied..."eh No. International duty now" Very professional sounding and focused, a changed man from 5 or 6 years ago.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

Dunne was woefully underutilised from set pieces at City IMO. In contrast, O'Neills teams have been bouncing balls off imposing centre halves since he was at Leicester (and probably Wycombe before that). Elliott, Mjallby and Laursen all both benefited from this tactic

Muted, and he was applauded by both sets of supporters
in contrast Barry was booed throughout and the crowd waved fake £50 notes with his picture on them at him

Laursen was deadly at it but I suppose the delivery is at least (probably more) as important

Can't think of any corners off the top of my head but he's certainly attacked free kicks very well for us as evidenced by goals home and away against Bulgaria.

Such a change in the ten years of Dunner at Man City - give Keegan his due for believing in him, and Dunner the credit for picking his career up and setting it right. I hope Villa and O'Neill prove a happy new home for him for a good few years to come.

In fairness, I think £6 is even more ridiculous. £6 million would be undervaluing IMO, but £6 is an insult
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

Irelands supporters owe a debt of gratitude to Keegan for how he handled Dunne back then. Good man management there and well done to Dunne for taking his 2/3 chance.

I would say 'Kevin Keegan' and 'man management' don't belong in the same sentence, but you appear to have deftly sidestepped that particular faux pas.

English managers in general have failed at that in the last while.... Glenda in particular.

Think man management was the one thing Keegan was good at to be fair. Certainly worked with Richard Dunne, handled him very well when many others would have given up on him.

When you look at how many players we've "lost" through injury / madness / attitude such as Thornton, Sadlier, Ireland and lots lots more (Dixon & J. O'Brien hopefully will recover) I think we can be thankful that another who may have slipped away was given the chance tio get back on track, and took it.

I would agree with you there. I would say that Keegans big weakness was tactical naievety

Turfed out?? He was sold for 3m, which is massive money for a 21 year old. Joe Royle gave him his debut at Everton, and bought him for City.
