Correct, it's not even owned by the FAI. They have a long-term lease, they let the MFA run it, and we rent it off them.
Canadian family. FAI have a long-term lease on it. 100 years I think.
Up for renewal in about 2095.
so are you saying cork FC paid a landlord gants to build stands. When if cork leave they have no ownership of anything. Why would you do that.
What do you mean if we leave?
I'm confident the county council of 2095, whoever those good folks will be, won't be rezoning the only football stadium in the county.

The Football Association of Ireland is ready to apply for planning permission to install extra seating at Drogheda’s United Park later this year.
The FAI is the landlord of the ground, which requires development work in order to meet the necessary licensing requirements for Drogheda United to take its place in the Premier Division in 2009.
Although no work will take place before the new season’s March 6th start date, Drogheda will be given a derogation on the understanding that some refurbishment will take place in the near future.
According to the Drogheda Independent, as many as 1400 seats could be installed on the terrace behind the goal at the ground’s North Road end.
Drogheda had planned to construct a brand-new 10,000-seater stadium outside the town but the project met with massive delays which eventually precipitated the club’s financial implosion late last year.
"If you don't work harder I'll pull you off at halftime,"
“Crikey, at Manchester City all we get is an orange and a cup of tea,"
Good old FAI...
Roddy Collins, the biggest <insert as appropiate> in Irish Football.
Well it might interest you to know that Cork City is the longest serving LOI club in the county in our 25th season now, and every year I've been supporting them people have said the same crap about us going down the pan.
They haven't yet got the satisfaction.

We dont really recognise Cobh to be honest. So much so there is a huge effort to try and have it removed and attached onto Dublin somewhere near Howth. The opposing voices are all saying the price of property would plummet having them attached onto the head land. We live in hope though
