This arose watching Liverpool and Chelsea last night!
When the game went into extra time, if Chelsea had scored would the away goals rule still count?
The argument that it did I thought was wrong as the away team were getting 30 min more to score a goal away from home.
The argument that it didn't was that bookings are carried forward to extra time and a second booking in extra time would mean a dismissal!
As you know no goal was scored so we never found out the answer.
Anyone know? If so is it a new rule or was it always in place?
