Looks like it'll be more difficult this season for O'Connell as Celtic have just signed Boyata and the guy from Manchester United, plus it sounds like Denayer might go back as well.

Forgot about McDonnell. Mick was talking up Connolly too and had him in a match day squad or two in the second half of the season just passed. 18 and 19 respectively and both were in the Shelbourne first team.Quote:

i always find it amusing the austrian / german teams often run up 20+ goal wins in pre-season games. they do things differently over there... no mercy.
Remember when Germany were beating one of the minnows 10 or 11 nil in a competitive game and they won a penalty. Jens Lehmann was going to take it but the opposition players convinced him not to because it was poor sportsmanship and disrespectful of the opposition.Quote:

Christie, Keogh & Hendrick all started Derby's 3-2 win against Utrecht in the Netherlands. Christie & Hendrick were replaced after an hour and Pearce came on for Keogh with fourteen minutes left. No Irish goalscorers.
Were both the goals Keogh's fault or just one of them?
The second was a penalty given away by Shotton. Keogh left him totally exposed by being substituted a few minutes earlier.
