sixth goal of the season against Sheffield Wednesday
sixth goal of the season against Sheffield Wednesday
scored for Derby v Sheff Wed
We have had quite a few young players coming on in their debut (or early games) and everything just went right for them on the day to produce an unexpected sensational goal or an amazing assist. Some make it some don't.
To 'pedestalise' Hendrick's contribution over what McCarthy has offered in total to the team (over a few games), is a meaningless exercise in indulgent pedantic reductionism. :)
I don't think 'pedestalise' has made it to the dictionary yet, seems geysir is well ahead of the game.
But yes Hendrick has scored so a goal and an assist in less than 45 minutes!!!
5 goals in less than 12 games, impressive for a striker, never mind a midfielder.
Surely one for the future in a midfield alongside Hoolahan as we build a Barcelona style team?
Not sure that he is ready to step up just yet but it is nice to be able to get excited about a young Irish midfielder again.
i usually get excited by young irish models, but each to their own.
But sadly for you Paul, the trick is to get them excited about you.
Either that or Rohypnol.

Looked determined.
wrt the attendance, it was a good job JH ordered 34 tickets!
you mean his friends and family are proper polish supporters.
he got an assist on the equaliser tonight according to BBC...
Brady got the two assists for Hull so all three goals from Irish assists.
Tough match for Derby away to second placed Hull although Leicester are favourites to take the 2nd automatic
promotion spot.
Scored Derby's first tonight against Bristol City, shot from outside the box into the bottom corner. Think that's 7 for the season so he's closing in on the target of 10 he set for himself. Conor Sammon set up Jamie Ward for their second.
Edit: Hendrick provides assist for Ben Davies to make it 3-0 at full time.
Edit 2: Hendrick also won a penalty after a couple of minutes (hauled down by Greg Cunningham!) which Jamie Ward had saved. Quite the night for him.
My friend over said Hendrick was superb tonight and unfortunately can't see him being a Ram next season.
Incidentally he also said Sammon is becoming a bit of a scapegoat for Derby fans, that he's shocking at times and he missed a sitter from two yards tonight.
