"Jail sentence for former Sligo and Bohs manager"
http://donegalnews.com/2017/01/jail-...-bohs-manager/
I'm sure there's a certain irony somewhere that he was detected while he had his kids in the car. They were one of his big go-to defences when he was criticised.
Why didn't Seanie think of the children?
Sure when he was ran out of Dundalk he left a bill of a couple of grand with several business around town unpaid. Also, this just reminded me of the time he was managing in Africa and the shenanigans that went on there! :D
He was certainly a 'character'. Run out of Bohs too. The 2009 season at Dundalk under Connor was ludicrously entertaining, not always in a good way though
He represents everything that is wrong in football.
I remember talking to one of the Harps directors involved in the manager appointment when Hutton left and they were saying he'd have been well in the running if they hadn't known some of his history and spoken to previous clubs. Came across brilliantly and had a great presentation. Seems like a man with issues TBH. Sad when it comes to this.
Cup final suits done up in April for one and a bunch of furniture for Oriel Park that was never Oriel Park bound, allegedly. He could certainly talk it, as himself a Joe Miller were sitting beside us in a pub up town one evening and he was the best of craic and interesting to listen to, though with hindsight a few of his stories were just that! He was very open about what he thought of other managers and players. He had some great ideas, that were sensible, so it is a pity that he let the rouge aspects of his character get in the way of his abilities.
Two of his former clubs played a friendly tonight, 1-0 to Galway but the Sligo away kit was the winner for me. Bohs of course poached him from Sligo with an offer of a lucrative contract, which they had to pay up in full after sacking him(plus legal costs). Some of Connor's better results at Galway came against Bohs, especially a 3-2 home win that denied Pat Fenlon another LoI title, and gave Michael O' Neill his first (Paddy Madden missed a few that night).
I recall that Stephen O Donnell was sitting behind me in the stand that night, having had an operation to get him fit for a relegation play-off that Galway were due to play against Bray. Interesting how the careers of the five people I have mentioned have gone since. Also it is great to have LoI soccer back again and I was a bit surprised that there was 200 plus in Terryland tonight.
Game any good?
Not bad, typical pre-season friendly but with more of an edge to it, especially in 2nd half. Better atmosphere than you would find at some League Cup games, help by having it on Friday and local rivals angle I suppose.
HE'S BACK!!!!
You can't keep a good man down for long!!

I burst out laughing before I even opened the thread!
Just missing a pic of Steve Bruce writing a few letter in the background.
