According to this article in fourfourtwo - https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features...youth-prospect - Everton defender Antonee Robinson is eligible for Ireland, but has already been called up by the US national side
Quote:
Everton have successfully blooded Jonjoe Kenny at right-back this season and, with the evergreen Leighton Baines starting to slow a little, they could be set to do the same on the other side of the pitch next season with Robinson.
A Premier League 2 champion with Everton in 2016/17, the athletic full-back has gone on to gain senior experience on loan at Bolton this season, where he has shown promise with a series of hard-working performances up and down the left flank in trying circumstances.
Robinson is eligible to represent England or the Republic of Ireland, but received his first international call-up by the United States last month. He recently revealed his plans to return to Goodison Park this summer to challenge for a place in the first-team squad

Always thought it was strange Duffy played for the north it appears from this the process of coming on board must be underway
Had quick Google and it turns out Duffy clearly stated it's us he wants to play with 2 weeks ago: https://www.thesun.ie/sport/football...eland-in-past/
Were the recent Patrick Bamford rumours just total bull or might we see him in green?
Going by O'Neill's comments at the time, Bamford should make his intentions known if he wants to be considered - https://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...-36703005.html
It does seem like the general tone of the rumours were exaggerated/fabricated.Quote:

Orebro finished 11th out of 16 teams in the Allsvenskan last season and conceded 54 goals in 30 games. Just as a compare/contrast, AIK finished second and conceded 22 goals in 30.
The more options for us the better, and at 23 there’s still room for improvement. But given our strength at centre back, he’ll have some work to do to get a place in our squad.
Ah, I dunno. I'd rather see Connor Shaughnessy, Paudie O'Connor or Sean McLoughlin called up sooner. And we have a selection of defenders in Scotland too- Charles Dunne, Daniel Devine, Carl McHugh, Joe Shaughnessy and a few more. That said, maybe he could turn out to be better than all the above and I've never seen him play. But I can't see why the "Irish Federation" would pursue him. He does play for the side that Pat Walker used to manage, not that he managed to influence his own sons when there appeared to be a chance.
Okoflex has moved to Celtic from arsenal. On the face of it seems like might push him more to us. One Of The lads on ybig thought he might now be ineligible for England as he would not have resided there and went to school there for 5 years but I'd say it's fairly close.
According to balls.ie he feels more of an Irish connection than English. Hopefully, but time will tell.
The quote is from a short piece in the Irish Times last year: https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/new...mark-1.3178485
I'd be more worried he would head with Nigeria.
Michael Duffy was on NewsTalk last night talking about his goal in Europe, and said he wouldn't be able to refuse a call up from Martin O'Neill:

The international discussion starts around the 11:30 mark, says that Martin O'Neill has been to Dundalk a few times

Walsall's Callum Cockerill-Mollett is listed as being Irish on wikipedia, and made his debut last season in the league trophy
Brendan Hines-Ike has signed for KV Kortrijk in Belgium for $750k and is their record signing. The club is owned by the infamous Vincent Tan who also owns Cardiff City: https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/20...um-kv-kortrijk
Pundit Arena also got comments from Hines-Ike on playing for Ireland: http://www.punditarena.com/football/...lls-next-star/
