I think the problem was as everyone was voting by E-mail there was nothing to stop the thread from sinking which is why a few people missed it but I did post two threads up, one with the idea and one witht he voting details so I was hopeing it wouldn't be a big issue. Hopefully for next year none of you will miss it :)
Well done Slash/ED I enjoyed it, regardless of who the winners were.
I think some of you are being a bit harsh on Slash/ED, he did this completely off the bat in his own time, with limited resources. It's the first year, hopefully of many, so cut him some slack. Next year we'll try and set up a dedicated polling booth and we might even try to organise some kind of prize fund from donations, with Slash/ED's agreement of course.
adam
Ah yeah, of course credit where it's due. Fair play Slash/ED. I am disappointed i missed the poll although that's my own problem. Will keep an eye out next year
Well said boss man. Personally i missed the thread myself, it should have been made a sticky and that would have given it a bit more expousre and a chance for more people to vote. But with all things like this people nearly always vote for a player off there own team or a player they dislike the most etc....... Good job Slash/ed.Quote:

It was a very short run to be fair and I didn't think many people would notice, but I wanted Slash/ED to have his run so I kept my mouth shut.
I was thinking along the same lines earlier on in the year but I was really concentrating on one particular award: Best Supporters. Obviously there could have been other awards too, but I wanted to concentrate on Best Supporters because: a) that's a lot of what Foot.ie is about, fostering support for the eL; and b) I was thinking of asking for donations for a prize fund, which would be awarded to the club that won (for development obviously).
I wasn't actually going to implement this until next year anyway, because I thought it would be a good idea to give a full season's notice so people could keep an eye on things with the award in mind, so should we give it a go for next year? Again, it would have to be with Slash/ED's blessing of course, but I've mentioned it already and he seemed keen.
adam
Absolutley, that sounds like an excellent idea. We could add that category to whatever kind of awards will be run next year and we've plenty of time to get a fund going, since people know it will be going towards an EL club I think they'd be more than willing to get involved with helping the fund too. The whole thing this year was implemented with very short notice which is hopefully something that wont be an issue next year, I think with more planning and now that people will be looking out for it we can get far more votes in and it'll be far better next year overall. That's the plan anyway.Quote:

For example there is no way that Limerick FC supporters would beat Cork City supporters to this award yet the supporters of Limerick FC have shown true commitment to their club in very difficult times while it is very easy to be a Cork City supporter these days (just an example - not getting at City - see my location).Quote:

So, my suggestion is that members of the board are not allowed vote for their own club. Any comments? :ball:
It's far too early to get into logistics.

Well done on the awards!
However in light of the highly unethical behaviour of one or two club managers in the past two seasons may I suggest two categories for next season:
Judas of the Year
and of course there should also be a Clown Prince of the Year too ! ;)
Thats basically the same as villain of the year ;)Quote:

What where they ?
Whats the obsession with Bohs losing to Dublin City?
Is there only Cork and Shels in the league then?
As for Shels winning the best chant thats a complete joke.I would have said they should have won the most annoying chant of the season award!!!!
Bohs Till I Die!
