Time for a new one, what’s the craic?
KB United started back last week any other teams back yet?
We are into the 2nd half of July now so we should surely be seeing at least some of the teams playing challenge matches by the weekend
Any word on signings around the league?
Hardly I'd say. Some teams just finished a few weeks ago. Any new players in clubs?
Ray Lynch back in desmond this year he is signed as player manager with the new club kb united was informed by one of their lads today.
Good to see that Glantine have installed a full set of floodlights giving them the option to play games on Saturday night etc.
Ya super credit to glantine, more shud follow suit.. what wit take lynch down there..madness imo. Must be good cash...
Yeah great credit to Glanine, very proactive and great for the league. Hopefully more will follow suit especially now with teams playing midweek in underage lights will be an advantage to them
As for Lynch, heard he got the road from Regional to make way for Considine so was touting his name to a number of Des league clubs
What division will KB be in?
Killeaney/Bally Rovers is it? second team as well I imagine
Any friendlies been going on? How did Rathkeale get on against pike? I heard from a Rathkeale B player that the 2 Quilligans are gone back playing with Newcastle West Town.
Any date for start of league, surly with all Ireland final it will be Sunday after it.. any news on friendly games? Any news on transfers ere? V quiet around...
Friday 24th I'd say
League begins on Sunday August 26 with Youths kicking off on Saturday September 1.
kb in Premier and 2nd team in division 2. Club went after lynch word is he has 3/4 lads going with him there playing. Don't understand alone they couldn't but can field 2teams together. Glin are supposedly trying to raid them of players.
Is there anything to be said for another Oscar Traynor team?
There is no question about it.. there should be a Oscar traynor team..it's an embarrassment that there is not but it's players that need to look at themselves and committ to it..also league need to back management, by looking after players needs with kits physio etc which has not been the way in the past..
When will fixtures be released? What's the big secret wit them each year, all other leagues know 2or 3 wks in advance..
If anyone knows of someone who they think would be interested in managing a side for the coming season could they PM me please.
Ray lynch €€€
They leave it late so as teams won't have time to change games I'd say, if they gave notice the club's with GAA players would look to move fixtures, I'd say they just don't want the hassle of accommodating changes with referee's and so forth. Bit of a conspiracy theory I know but it's plausible.
Funny how some clubs always seem to get their first game or two moved, privvy to information that the average club are not perhaps.
How are teams shaping up?
I hear the 2 Murphy's from Athea signing for Broadford.
Quilligan's, Joyce, Quaid with NCW.
Lyons' brothers leaving Rathkeale.
Ya heard broadford are trying to strengthen alrite as is most clubs. I don't know will the 2 Murphy's do much for them tho..Newcastle will be the team to beat you would imagine with all the signings but time will tell.. Anyone hear how Abbey bgarry and glin going..
Rathkeale seem to be in trouble alright with the 2 Lyons’s, Doherty and Pa Ahern all looking for new clubs
Abbey appear to have very little done but have signed Kevin Murphy from Athea
Ncw have a lot of new faces by all accounts but have lost all their challenge games
Broadford have signed Darren Murphy from Athea and Shaka from NCW plus have a few lads back from Australia. Beaten by regional last weekend
You never know who is with who until first game...doubt ratkeale will loose all them and ahern has not been playing with limerick sides in challenges.. broadford seem to have good bit done alrite but it's early days.. Was dat Kevin Murphy with janesboro last season, quality player if same lad..
kb utd b team played creeves in friendly today finished 4-3 to creeves good game creeves could surprise a few in 2nd division this year. Kb utd a beat glantine 2-1 fitness could play big part in the a teams season this year. Some good ball players in there just seem to run out of steam very early.
Who is peter clarke?
Heard Stephen O Brien from Granagh has been training with Rathkeale.
Any fixtures out yet?, bit of a joke really that it's last minute every yr..
Any challenge games today?
Kb utd a played mix of Rathkeale a & b Thursday and came away with a 2-0 win, b team played shannonside last night won 4-0. 2 good results shannonside could struggle this year may be looking at second relegation in a row.
Good result for in but surly not many A players in that ratkeale team. Had heard they were going well..
They had 2 playing in first half and had bones of 8/9 on for second half. Tbh it showed tempo of second half was much greater kb should have scored more but couldn't break their defence down very solid at back especially in second half.
6 days out from the start of the season and still no fixtures
schoolboys/girls shouldve been out last night as well, but werent put up. i wonder why??? i guarentee no fixtures will be put up til wednesday. with myself included some people may not be able to go to the matches or coach now as i may have to work now, with others "calling in sick"
