Couple of moments standout moments for me , if it’s just the league we are talking about id go for Greg Bolgers goal v Sligo in 2013, my second league title but the marney episode tainted the first one. I largely missed the boat for the two in a row but got a few games in. They were different times when I actually believed in the league.
There is always a fair chance Tomas Connolly will send off someone from Harps, but he is getting desperate at this stage.

So is the mascot suspended for tonight's match? Can a match be forfeited by fielding a suspended mascot?
Bohs and their keeper James Talbot had a page in the Shamrock Rovers programme dedicated solely to a review of his post match radio interview and with RTE after the last derby. Has any other club ever afforded an opposition club/player the same treatment.???
Can't belive anyone in Shamrock Rovers thought that was a good idea

I'm surprised this hasnt popped up elsewhere! Very Waterford Whisper like but even as a rumour should be part of this fine thread as much 'cause it's not beyond possible! JD's way back to Europe along with Waterford FC. If he has been payed off by the FAI then they havent found or proven legal wrongdoing so he couldnt be stopped heading a new ownership group on fit to be a director type rules with any govt or football groups. It would be pure entertaining....

That Thai fella at Man City was a fit and proper person. That test isn't worth a ****e from what I can see.
The article suggests the terms of his payoff mean he can't get involved in an LoI club, which would surely scupper things. Though you never know in this league!
I dont know on what legal grounds they could make that a requirement. If he has been paid off rather than sacked outright there cant be such legally binding requirements beyond confidentiality on the payout amount. If he wanted to do it but there is a clause in his 'redundancy' he could easily challange it. It would fit perfectly with the pig ignorant nature of the chap and I'd hope that Waterford fans would stand against his involvement at any point. Either way it would make for an interesting development on so many levels!
I guess if he has signed in writing to confirm he won't take up such a position or else xyz happens, that may be enough. How they work in practice - thinking contact clauses saying you won't leave a company to join a close competitor for example - I don't know.
Though of course there's always ways around regulations, as John Gill/Vinny Perth will know.
And even then, as Delaney well knows, Waterford could just conveniently denied a licence...
Those general non compete clauses would usually have to be time limited in order to be enforceable. And the time period has to be reasonable, it's been a while since I had a look at that area of the law but I have it in my head that you'd struggle with a clause that lasted 12 months or more.
I'd have used the Jeff McNamara example of Dundalk getting around the rules especially with Waterford as the subject!!
The licencing process under a Delaney led ownership was one of the angles for a GLITW moment I was thinking of. There are so many reasons not to do this and be completely horse sh1t but it is so out there there could be some actual substance to it all. John th Baptist doesnt do rejection too well and he needs a crowd to throw his tie in to after all..

George Hamilton mistaking Ronan Finns child for a teddy bear live on television is peak #greatestleagueintheworld
When ye see him in front of the camera the glasses he wears are practically binoculars. Sadly he is of another era with the recently retired and departed old cohort at RTE Sport.
Sure he thought Farrugia scored the winning penalty
