Simon Power has extended his contract with Norwich, and has signed for FC Dordrecht on loan for the rest of the season: https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019...y/simon-power/
I had a quick look at the FC Dordrecht squad on Wikipedia and it has Quivi/Caomhin Fowler in there. Very little comes up recently in a Google search for Fowler.
However, it looks like he scored for Cardiff 23s in a 1-1 draw today: https://twitter.com/CF11Academy/stat...566439937?s=19

Anthony Pilkington has signed for Wigan
Didn't see this mentioned anywhere.
Judge moves to bottom of the table Ipswich.

Sean McDermott has joined Dinamo Bucharest from Kristiansund.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc...tball/46976105. Rafferty joins Preston. Has built a really solid career since time at Liverpool and played lots of games. Good example of getting out of big club early when it's clear there is no route to first team
Very true - with the amount of competition at the big clubs, it's really important for young players to get solid first-team action early, whether through transfers like Rafferty, John Egan and Derrick Williams, or multi-month loans, like Jimmy Dunne . Rafferty is still only 25 so if he can get settled quickly into the Preston first team, he should be on Mick's radar.
And given that our links to Liverpool are being diluted over time, he's one of the last Scousers we have been able to bring on board. There was Darren Potter before him who is almost 10 years older. Corey Whelan is from Chester.
Disappointing transfer window all round from an Irish perspective, one that started with so much promise. At least Aaron Connolly should get some first team action with his loan move to Luton. Other late movers were Michael Doyle to Notts County, Graham Burke to Gillingham (on loan) and David Meyler to Coventry (on loan) - the others have been mentioned elsewhere I believe. Disappointed not to see James McCarthy get out on loan, as well as the numerous youngsters we have at U23 level. I was also hoping Ryan Nolan would have at least got some loan experience by now, he's 20 next month and is still languishing in the Inter U19 team.
I wouldn't call any window that includes Connor Ronan to DAC Dunajska Streda disappointing, but that's just me.
That's actually not a bad move - they're a young squad, chasing down Slovan Bratislava at the top of the Slovak League - it'll give him a chance to play in a more technical environment, rather than getting lumps kicked out of him by a 33-year-old embittered journeyman with instructions to "let 'im know early", to quote Joe Kinnear
Courtney Duffus gets out of the Oldham chaos and moves to... er... Yeovil on a deal to June 2021: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47070551
18 transfers, 16 loans, four new contracts, and two managerial appointments for Irish players in the January 2019 transfer window: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog...07549771359565

JJ O'Toole moves up a level to Burton who would have an eye on promotion

Masterson, Whelan, and McAuley released by Liverpool: https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/fir...retained-list?
You'd imagine Whelan will find a League One or League Two club, based on his loan experience with Crewe, but I don't know about the other two
Harry Charsley released by Everton: http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2019/0...-released-list
Didn't he declare for Poland?
Also included in the full list of released players: https://www.football365.com/news/the...r-league-clubs
According to reports online Afolabi rejected a new contract to look for first team football, and has offers from two Premier League clubs, plus one from the Championship and League One. Presumably the Championship club is Millwall, where he had a trialQuote:
Burnley: Jonathan Walters (retired), Stephen Ward
Cardiff: Brian Murphy
Southampton: Jonathan Afolabi
Watford: Tommie Hoban
Former Limerick youngster joins Bradford on permanent deal from Leeds https://the42.ie/4688458
Jon Gallagher (Atlanta Utd., ex-Notre Dame) goes on loan to Aberdeen.
Interesting move. It appears that the Atlanta second team is managed by a former Aberdeen player which surely helped with the move: https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/...ng-great-club/
Not sure where he played mostly last season. He's referred to as a right back here.
James Furlong leaving Shamrock Rovers for Fulham https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2019...amrock-rovers/
After being released by Cambridge, Emmanuel Osadebe gets signed by Macclesfield: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48811709
Joe Murphy (GK) leaves Bury for Shrewsbury.

Sideways move as young McDonnell moves to Boreham Wood of the National League. They finished one spot above his old club Aldershot Town last season.
Furlong confirmed to Brighton. Portsmouth vs Bristol Rovers for Scales, deal expected to be finalized soon. Plenty of interest in Mandriou. Offer rejected for Lyons from Wimbledon https://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/league-of-ireland/mandroiu-attracting-championship-suitors-38305100.html
Month by month, it appears to be more attractive to stay in the League of Ireland or even come back to the League after time in an English academy. Not sure of the success rates in the past couple of years of lads going over, although many of those were slightly older than those referenced in this article, such as the Preston bunch (injury-hampered Maguire aside). Curtis has had a good impact. Sadlier appears to have broken in, albeit at League One.
I see Anselmo McNulty has joined Wolfsburg
Jayson Molumby on season-long loan from Brighton to Millwall. (Sky Sports)
Glen McAuley to St Pats: https://www.stpatsfc.com/news.php?id=8487
McAuley and Drennan up front will be interesting
Sean McLoughlin to Hull City: https://www.hullcitytigers.com/mclou...s-tigers-move/
18 year old defender Jake Cooper signed his first professional contract with Rotherham earlier in the summer, and mentioned that he'd been here with the national side: https://www.themillers.co.uk/news/20...onal-contract/
Quote:
The young defender concluded by adding that he is hopeful of remaining in the international fold as he continues to develop.
“I've been with them [Republic of Ireland youth sides] in spells,” Cooper said.
“I'll be looking to get back into that team and stay involved with them over the course of the next year and try and stake a claim there as well as here.”
"Them", "that team" and another "them"...
