Opportunity for Rovers to lay the Hoodoo and keep the league alive or the opportunity to head into the Dundalk match looking at an 8 point deficit if we lose and then start planning for 2020.
Shels v Drogs is a big match as is Bray Longford.
Cabo need a win in Athlone to stay in touch after a great start.
Bohs missing 6 first team players, under 19's and second string mostly getting a run out , other than Buckey, Levingson Devanney Mandriou and Talbot.
If Rovers don't win this there must be a hex.
Hopefully 11 v 11 for the whole game.
Not sure about hoodoo, games always tight and weird and wonderful world of “Irish refs” often playing a major part !
Hopefully tonight the players are the ones that decide the result. Bohs definitely wreaked - especially at the back, so need a derby special performance to get anything. Would take a point now.
your reserves and 19's should have won in Dundalk if it wasnt for the ref so im travelling in hope rather than belief.
Only first teamer "reportedly" out is McEneff and he is a big loss but i assume Watts is available again after missing the Derry match.
As we're now going three weeks without a league match, a Derry-Cliftonville friendly has been arranged for tonight as well.
Recent signing from Inverness, Darren McCauley, will be playing. Can't play in the league until next month anyway.
Also have an Austrian defender over on trial.
Quite a funky match poster designed for the game too.

Bohs vs Shamrock Rovers is live on Eir Sport 1 incase anyone wasn't aware
Dundalk approached Derry to bring forward the game from the 5th of July to this weekend. It was a Derry home game and would’ve suited Dundalk to get a fixture this weekend and you would have thought it would suit Derry who has no home game for weeks but Derry declined because this friendly was arranged. I would’ve thought getting a league fixture played was more important.
In ****ing believable. 2 penos so far to bohs.
Did rovers forget to send a cheque to the refs Christmas dinner fund.
At least we have still 11 but I wouldn't bet for how long
Poor from Bolger. You wouldn't see sloppy play like that in junior football.
Very soft booking for grace. Ref lining him up
Rovers are desperate. They just can't help themselves giving away soft penalties as if it were Christmas.
Talbot is dodgy tonight.
Shels 1 Drogheda 1 at HT. Awful wet conditions but Drogheda much the more composed side and they equalise on the stroke of HT through a Sean Brennan thumper. Shels very sloppy aside from good moves for the goal and a missed one on one
Entertaining derby game. Rovers are their own worst enemy, the way they tense up in these games is almost ridiculous at this stage. The young Bohs lads just seem to thrive on it. No doubt about the two penos either. Rovers have had a few decent chances but fluffing the finish is just another symptom of how constipated they seem to be.
8 minutes added on. Poor from Rovers. Positive from Bohs. How did they not score a few mins ago. Somehow the ball stayed out.
Cobh win 2-1... Announce that Stephen Henderson has stepped down as manager. Strange.
Rovers are such a weak and naive team that it's almost comical. They can't handle the intensity of derby matches. Is it game over on the title if we win in Tallaght next week? I'll take nothing for granted but I can't envisage them catching up if that happens.
Its never game over with a potential 8 point lead even if we win in Tallaght, odds on though. Bohs and referees are doing everything they can to help us out in this league campaign. Superb strike for the winning goal. Penalties were both legit though it was definitely in rather than at the box and Bolger should have known better 2nd peno. Fair play to Mandroiu for stepping up again after missing first one. Does Rob Harvey now get added to the Dundalk referees supporters club also?
Stunning 2-1 win for Shels over Drogheda, stunning in fact I do not know we won that game of football, we were horrendous took 2 out of 3 chances all game and Drogheda were wasteful in front of goal. Referee and linesman were shocking, we should have got a penalty for a blatant handball
4 points clear with 10 games to go but as we're the worst team to ever lead the first division with 10 games to go I expect the board won't take any chances and look to add a couple of quality players to get us over the line once the window opens
Think we looked decent enough tonight. Big improvement in second half. Parke, Coughlan and Murray linking up well. Slow starts are killing us though.
Nice win for Bohs. Any good pics of the pre match display?
That's it ! Next derby we play the U 15s 😁 definitely must be giving Bradser nightmares. Never get tired of seeing the shams abuse their own players at FT😁
Winner was some strike
Actually next time we should play our under 15s .
Leagues over if we lose in Tallaght.
8 months to sign a striker for next season.
It's probably over already given the depth of the dfc squad.
Oh well at least I don't have the hope anymore to kill me.
Its just an incredible run that Bohs have over Rovers, I honestly thought tonight with the entire back 4 out, Bohs would only muster a draw, I was wrong.
Mandriou is a class act, what a winner from him, that was some strike.
Dundalk might be 5 clear, same games played, but if Rovers win in 2 weeks time its down to 2 points, I don't think we will lose though, then again a Dundalk win and 8 clear with same games played and it will look more odds on, incidently Dundalk were 1/4 to win the league tonight before the Bohs/Rovers game. Bohs are a joy to watch, Rovers definitely made a big mistake not getting in a decent striker pre season.
Rovers have very good individual players in MF but I never get the impression they are not good together, compare this to Chris Shields, patrols the centre circle, trots back when he makes a pass, then sits and makes sure the attack doesn't break down. Not a pretty role but very effective to allow the more creative players to do what they do.
I'm not sure which part of my post you think is "rubbish"
The statistics clearly prove the improvement in points gained per game
2016 - 1.67 points per game
2017 - 1.64 points per game
2018 - 1.72 points per game
2019 - 2.10 points per game
If the rate of improvement continues anything is possible in the seasons ahead
Rovers were excellent tonight apart from
scoring .
A great game no falling over after every tackle
A la Cork
Alberts and Dundalk

Rovers tried to play football and play out from the back. Bohs copped this and closed them down quickly outside their own box. Rather than change tactics they kept to Plan A and conceded two clear penalties.
Rovers squad is a joke. They have so many midfielders its farcical and yet they haven't one decent forward. Dan Carr who is a centre forward played on the wing and looked like Bambi on ice. Played out of position and never looked comfortable.
Greg Bolger reminds me of Nicholas Bendtner former Arsenal player. Strolls around the pitch criticizing players for mistakes but does nothing himself. He has self belief well above his ability.
Hopefully Bradley is backed by Shamrock board/fans and he remains manager. I speak for all Bohs fans when I say we hope he stays at Shamrock forever
I think we’re heading back to our favourite division....
Playing out from the back on the bumpy Dalymount pitch is foolish. Dundalk didn't try to do it and used Hoban's ability to hold up the ball.
Rovers could have done the same if they played Carr up front. Chalk that one to the manager.
There are a lot weaknesses in Rovers for a team that has title aspirations. Where is the pace? It is critical in the LOI. All good teams have it.
As tidy a footballer as Jack Byrne is, he has ceased influencing games. No pace and no physical presence. Ronan Finn is their stand out player but it looked like he was trying to carry the team last night.
We didn't deserve to win at all last night. Another horrendous, totally out of sorts performance. The most discouraging thing is that for how far into the season we are there's been no signs of progress or things clicking.
Delighted for Walker to get off the mark though, you could see how much it meant to him too.
Also very good of Talbot to fuel the fire of what'll be this week's definitely worth reading debate on here.
UCD put a couple of results together and we're basically gone, can't defend as a unit and make mistakes individually all the time,O'Reilly comes across and leaves the young lad the freedom of Richmond park to score the winner.
I thought Levingston absolutely strangled Bolger and Byrne. He looks a player.
Talbot did his bit of rubbing it in all right! Abut 90% of any mouthing off between Rovers players seemed to have Bolger involved. There was probably a complacency with the Rovers players due to injuries and suspensions that Bohs had and that the dominant run has to end sometime. There is certainly a collectiveness about Bohs that Talbot alludes to - Rovers heads dropped each time after conceding as if it a loss was inevitable where Bohs shrugged off the equaliser and went and scored again. I thought it would work the other way round tbh. This derby hoodoo is seriously damaging Rovers with 9 points dropped in this fixture alone and an 18 point swing in a month will have to have planted the seed of doubt in Tallaght.
