It's sad to see.
But it's technically correct. Keane and Quinn are both Irish...
I keep seeing more and more little phuckers around town wearing Sunderland jerseys.
Drives me phucking nuts.
Wish to phuck they'd support their own team instead of some third rate Premiersh!t team.
There is just not enough vomit in the world........
Gona print it out in case i run out of bog roll
Yeah the eagerness with which people have "adopted" Sunderland just makes you think there's no hope.
Any word on how many of them crawled out from under the rocks to go to the Athlone game last night?
It sickened me to see how much coverage was given to this game in the papers this morning. An ordinary Athlone game usually gets about 4 lines.
Get over it lads, English clubs are always going to be supported over here because its a higher standard of football and there is now a huge Irish connection at Sunderland. Im go to Terryland every week to watch United and I watch english football too, and I have an interest in Sunderland because of the Roy Keane factor
There was 3000-3500 at Cobh v Sunderland a couple of weeks back. barstoolers not used to seeing "their team" every year.
IMO not many people who go to those games are actually Sunderland games. They have interest in football but not enough to go every week no matter what standard they looking at.
I dont think thats the point they are making, Lots of people support english clubs but i read somewhere that now 1,500 Irish fans go over every week to watch sunderland. This is only since Keane took over. I doubt there was ever 1,500 sunderland fans here never mind 1,500 that would travel each week to watch them.
I would wonder if UTD even get that many heading over every week They are just idiots that now support Sunderland because the manager is Irish  What happens when he leaves will they move club too or just stop going.
If Quinn wore the number 19 shirt, the cover would have been better.
19 16 The Irish Uprising;)
Zero problem with somebody being a LOI and genuine EPL fan. I fall into that category.
What I will laugh at are Celtic/ Sund-oireland fans that follow a team purely based on some kind of perceived Irishness, when real Irish teams are going to the wall for lack of ar*ses on seats.
Couldnt put it better. With that in mind my main hope this season is that Sunderland go down. This my dear friends is a work in progress on social fickleness. Lets watch & see.
The fact that Sunderland as stated above are marketing this Oirishness is a laugh. Those who have bought in are simply fools & there money will not be refused oop north you can be sure. Lets see where they are in 3 years time. Id like to personally say thanks to all who have scant regard for their local clubs & letting them go to the wall. Quality of football isnt an argument to me so dont bring it up in any replies. Quality of football is just an excuse to use as to why you were sitting at home eating sugar puffs playing the Xbox instead of standing & supporting your local team in rain, wind or snow. If you had a family member who was a junkie or misfit you would try & help them wouldnt you? Or would you go next door & try live in their house after all they adjusted quite well & were loved by all the other neighbours.

Hope the hundreds of thousands of unsold copies are pulped into recycled toilet paper.
Sunderland is all about the "Roy Keane factor". The media even call the club "Roy Keane's Sunderland". He mesmerises a large section of the Irish football community. One of my best friends with whom I travelled all around the world supporting Ireland never went to an other Irish match after Saipan. If Sunderland had been taken over by Quinn with O'Leary as manager, it would barely have caused a ripple. When Keane moves on to another club, it will start over again with that club and the Sunderland jerseys will be put away or exchanged for the new club jersey.
I don't understand it myself but then I was always an Irish supporter, not a supporter of a particular Irish player. The Sunderland thing doesn't make me sick like the title of the thread states. For good or bad, Keane is an Irish phenomenon and wherever he goes there will be huge interest among his adoring fans. That's life. We like in a celebrity culture.
The word competitive is the most important in my post. Not every premier league game is competitive. Some of the lesser teams are just going through the motions against top four teams and there are also mid-league games that are phoney wars. This has gotten worse since the same teams occupy the 4 champions league places every season(or nearly)It was not always this way if you look at records from 20 years ago you will see that the top four could contain different teams every year.
If you have two teams of roughly the same standard trying their damdest then you have a competitive game that should be entertaining imo.
Pretty sickening alright, my dislike for Sunderland has increased with the signing of Dioff and will even more so if the sign daddy dick, hope they get relegated but I can't see it happening as they have more more than all the other relegation candidates
Sunderland fans I have met tend to be a good bunch and have remained fanatical despite watching some awful stuff over the years.
The anthisis to the event junkies at Old Trafford,Anfield and the Emirates.
Until now.......because heeeeeeeerrrreessss Paddy.......
"I'm here for Keano and so are my kids,..he such a great guy, would never let his country down, would'nt do friendlies but that doesn't matter, turned the station because he was bored watching vital play off match in Terhan but thats what I love about him, always tell it like it is, loved that time he slapped Phil Neville around the lug for giving back chat, or Alfie thingys leg ha ha..did he think he would ever get the better of our Roy?, slagging Shay Given off?..genius
got publicity for Guide Dogs...Saipan? don't get me started...I get too angry..all McCarthys fault........ aw hes already a great manager...Stokes,Chopra,Halford,McShane,Ethutu,Ric hardson? They will all be legends once they settle in...Can't wait for our Roy to become manager of Man U so I can get back to supporting them...C'mon the gloriuos Mackems I love you until Roy leaves, Oh I love you Roy, you are our leader, we will follow you from club to club............as long as its not our own country...Hi could I have the toilet brush with the Tricolour and the Sunderland crest...£48 quid no problem..any official soap left?"
Havent been home for a while, was reading the Oirish Mirror and there was a columnist on Saturday, 'hes first with all the news from the Stadium of Light'. That is beyond reason. I can handle a few pages of Old Firm sh!te during the weekend but a column every week dedicated to Sunderland. Im sorry but I hope Sunderland go down. What sort of nation are we?
