Does anybody know how we are doing on this?
Have we reached the 130,000 or are we far from it?
There was nothing in the Sligo Champion on this at all today.
What happens if we dont raise the money?
What happens if we do - where do we go from here?

But these full and part time players have got to be paid as well.
If we go down that road, will we lose Paul Cook and some of our better players?
It couldnt be much less.
I assume a lot of the players are on 2 year contracts so they will have to be paid
I thought a lot of them got extensions to their contracts
Do we need 75 new fundraising threads a day?
Evidently yes.
Hi Deecay, there's hardly 75 different fundraising threads.
It would be great if you could answer the above 4 questions for me.
If the answers are in all the threads you mention,I'm sorry as I just cant seem to find them.
What is the situation with the Forum syndicate?
I put my name down for 50 but i must have missed how to transfer the money - was an electronic transfer setup?
From today's Indo
Quote:
Meanwhile, Sligo Rovers remain on the road to ruin, according to club chairman Michael Toolan, after the club revealed that they have gathered only €32,955 of emergency funds in just under a month.
The board had initially set a target of €130,000 on July 15, a figure they stated was needed by the end of August or the club would cease to exist.
And with that deadline looming, Toolan has reiterated that the Bit O' Red will not continue if something drastic is not done.
"If you're asking me whether we'll still be going if the revenue doesn't keeping coming in through the turnstiles, we won't."
I think if the club got a load of tickets printed for the Drogs game, priced at 10 euro each and we went around every doorstep in Sligo asking people to help the club survive by buying a match ticket it would raise significant funds. A lot of people have goodwill towards the club but can't afford 50 euro for the syndicate but would have no problem giving a tenner. I mentioned this to an MC member and got no response
Looks like a door-to-door collection is the last roll of the dice. Who'll do it, though?
Maybe it's just me being negative (sorry knappagh red) but let's face it the interest just isn't there anymore. The word has gone out on national TV, radio and press, local radio and local press. The financial situation of the club is well known but the 130K needed hasn't come in. Basically it's the same people that are digging deep yet again. TBH to have a senior soccer club in the region is only the dream of the few hundred loyal supporters, some lukewarm 'supporters' and the rest don't give a sh1t.
Look around the league almost every club is in trouble and the bottom line is lack of support. The barstoolers are preparing themselves for the 'new season' with their brand new jerseys etc oblivious of what's happening in their own back yard.
Very sad but oh so very true.

Does any of this include the fee we recieved for Faz ?
Just to say lads that The Rovers are embarking on, what I Believe a series of friendly fundraising matches against local clubs. Our One, Merville United, is on next Wednesday Night KO 7:45, with the all important match sponsorship, and After Match Reception in Mooneys afterwards. Voluntary Contributions on the gate.
Could be interesting!
Its in the Showgrounds!
Hi,
Where is this advertised and how are people meant to know about it?
I really HATE to have to bring this up, but surely we should be inviting bids for Coleman from whatever cross-channel clubs that have expressed interest?
I mean, if we got 30,000 for him (just as a ball park figure), that's massive for us at this stage, right? If it is the difference between the club surviving or not, then surely his sale would be for the best?
why not have a car boot sale? surely all you lads can find junk in your house to sell have he boot sale in the carpark a few hrs before kickoff at a selected home game.
I heard that the money is very slow coming and don't think we will hit 130k which is shocking as its only 2600 lines @50 or 216 new shares , given that a lot of people have donated more than 50quid there seems to be a lot of people out there quite happy to sit back.
Well it would take 2600 people if everyone gave E50. Considering way less go to matches(also a lot of kids who wouldn't even have E50) its unsurprising that we are falling short. I think our best hope is the bucket collection organised for september.
Also do the amounts quoted which are raised through the syndicate include the money(about 3k afaik) raised through the 2 quizzes and the poker thing in the casino?? And also the race night?
Its looking like buckets alright , I know a lot of people who have given more than e50 and even a few people who have given more than 1k , I thought we would of exceeded the 130k initially given the nature of the appeals but alas it looks like it will fall short.
Im sure alot of ye are doing this including myself, for all those that have a season ticket, instead of using it just pay your way into the ground. Every little helps lads
Whats the gist of whats in the champion and post this week , I have heard the headlines are fairly shocking.
Front page headline on the post is "5 DAYS TO SAVE SLIGO ROVERS, Sligo Rovers will cease to exist in the Eircom League Premier Division if the club cannot raise €130,000 by this Sunday's deadline"
Then it basically goes on to say that the club has only raised €45,000, urging the fans to come out in force on Saturday, also asks fans that pay the normal entrance fee of €15, plus season ticket holders, stewards and members of the press, to pay a voluntary contribution of €20 to the club for the next two games. Also says the MC will also pay €20 at the gate for the two games while the players and coaches have returned their free passes for the remainder of the season.
They say the club will cease to exist unless we get the money unless we raise the remaining money by Sunday, but yet they say next two games. Anyone got an explanation for this? Ive got a feeling that this has been over exaggerated by the club.
