sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure :D
apparently the cops rang in to make the comment that it was rovers & drogs fans attacking each other.
rovers chairmen quickly put the cop in his place
in all seriousness : cops- how do they even dress themeselves in the morning
they are so completely inept,at all aspects of this problem.
it is not a football issue, its a public order one and they havent a fckin iota about whats needed to stem this issue.
10th time it has happened for the same reason in the same place.
It takes a special level of incompetence and laziness.
It wasn`t the Garda that said it was Rovers and Drogheda fans. That was a Dublin Bus spokesman.
It happens every week after Tolka whether its Rovers or Shels playing. When Shels are playin the gangs come down outside Tolka chasing anyone they can find and when its Rovers its the buses they attack.
The guards lack of action on it has been pathetic. I wonder has any of the little scumbags ever been arrested and charged with anything, from what I`ve seen the Garda just move them on when they do do anything instead of arresting them.
Here is today's liveline. Rovers chairman is on at 52 minutes.

dublin bus need to get a map the idiots .what would drogs fans be doing in dublin city centre coming from tolka .
Unbelievable that this can go on and on when it's entirely predictable- the same thing happens in the same places after the same events FFS!
While obviously the blame lies with the scum involved, the Gardai seem to be incredibly lax about policing football and football related problems.
Maybe Primetime could do something on this and (further) embarrass them into action.
I'd almost say you could leave it at that. It'd be a bit harsh on some of the hard working ones though.
It really does seem insane that they can't patrol that small area for 1-2 hours on a Friday night. A small visible presence would be enough to prevent any trouble. When you see the amount on duty when Rovers play Bohs compared to a normal match it's crazy. That game is totally over-policed while other nights are completely neglected.
But it shouldn't be a football problem. Its a bunch of ***** attacking a bus halfway between O'connell street and drumcondra. "standard" cops should be looking into it
Don't give them an excuse to go in the opposite direction with the emergency response teams, riot squads and mounted units. It needs half a dozen police officers used wisely, nothing more.
I'll hazard a guess that like after UCD last season, they'll be there now, but then it'll ebb away, they'll lose concentration again and it'll start again.
American guy who witnessed this attack on Liveline now.He thought it was shocking and he is from LA.
Apparently Shels supporters are partially responsible for the trouble around Dorset Street  Ridiculous talk.
Yeh heard that Landlord talking about "football fans".Talk about getting the wrong end of the stick.
No he wasn't. That landlord (capitalist basket, taking advantage of people's inability to afford a house) said that he assumed both Shels and Bohs supporters were involved in the ongoing trouble in the area. The fact that he mentioned Shels supporters leads me to believe he has done f*** all research into who are the perpetrators really are and, with this in mind, he should have kept his mouth shut. I'm not for a second saying that our supporters have not been involved in trouble this year but to suggest they hang around in the Dorset Street area is nonsense.
That's a fair point. When speaking specifically about burgularies, he did say that football fans were not to blame. Point taken.
