Very enjoyable again. Feature on the Euro U-16 win, Goal of the Month (of suspect quality, admittedly), Harps' winner against Derry ten years ago on the scorer's 40th birthday and Glen Crowe losing his balance over his belly.
Disappointed they didn't interview Keith Foy during the Euro U-16 feature. Considering he's in the league, scored one of the goals in the clip they showed and was also mentioned by Andy Reid in the interview. Think I'll send them an e-mail.
Another good show, Tony O'Donoghue did a good job & the guests tonight(Rico, Dave Barry and Liam Mackey)made some good points.
I enjoyed the report on the Euro - U16 aswell, i didnt know John O'Shea & Andy Ried was playing for them back then:o.
Giovanni Trappatoni & Marco Tardelli will be doing the draw for the 2nd Round of the FAI Cup on next week's show:eek:
You can see for yourself now, A Face, it's up on the site.
Wasn't a great show, though. Around a quarter of it was wasted on Oireland stuff which had nothing to do with the league, the 60 interviewee was some nobody from UCD and your man Mackey was back on the panel and doing most of the talking for some reason.
You'd like to think so, but he has a bizarre notion that the Irish national team should consist solely of players playing in Ireland, which gets brought up far more regularly than an opinion of its ridiculousness ought.
refeering the big topic again with the danny murphy incident and glen crowes fall, to be fair to crowe he didnt even appeal. The shams red card was disgraceful from your man, thats bloody assault
would have made sense to interview foy alright,as he's in the league and all.
he's put on a little bit of weight in the last few years eh?
That 60 seconds thing is retarded and if thats the only way of getting a woman in the show  The first division doesnt exist of course and it was no surprise to see Dave Barry as Tony ODs side kick i was actually expecting a visit from the president of cork himself, Roy Keane! The "raiders" piece is ruined by the grany footage which is a joke and is RTE just saying that our footbage is ****e. Not a showing of great European times like the 60s/70s/80s course the tapes are prob taped over with GAA games by now. Id love to see a collection of away european goals in the show. Just from a Limerick side, Des Kennedy scoring in the bernebeu, Limerick drawing 1 1 in the Dell Vs Southampton or Alkmaars last min winner against us in 79. No chance of course
E-mail them.
But I bet the footage, if it still exists (I know our game against Everton is gone), will be grainy.
We have been over this before, can we give it a rest now. If you are promoted then you'll be on, get promoted and its job done.
Last few beers after the long weekend draws to a close i see.Quote:

Email address ... top of the thread. List some games and they'll show them. Unless you are expecting someone else to do it for you.Quote:

C'mon, you're being silly nowQuote:

I would too, good idea, email them about it. List some goals as well so it has a better chance of being shown.Quote:

Email them, if they have the footage then there is no reason it wont be shown.Quote:

They spend huge amount of money on time coding footage so i cant imagine that they record over it willy nilly, i'm not saying it doesn't happen, but some footage gets priority over other. I cant imagine to tape over European footage like that.
Ask them .... email them
Why has there been 2 UCD players on that "Sixty" thing? When Ramblers, Finn Harps, Cork City and Sligo havn't had any players!
The red card at the Sligo vs Shams game was terrible. It was assault as Bellavistaman stated earlier on in the thread.
The goal of the month is a joke. There is no way that Brennan's penalty shuld be in there. There's a few more i'd question aswell.
It was common practise with RTE to tape over old sports footage. Our club contacted them for the footage of Athlone vs AC Milan and only 30 minutes of it survived.
I have emailed half of europe trying to find old footage of the away leg in the San Siro bit as of yet no joy.
After the game at the showgrounds did Mauro Almeida actually say
"Best. Game. Ever."
Do they contact clubs when they are doing this? Surely the clubs have some rights over it as well, seeing as they are the biggest stakeholders as regards the content. I mean if they are going to tape over it then they have no more use for it, give it to the clubs and leave them have it, even with an understanding that they could use it when ever they want.
The broadcaster/production company has paid for the rights of the footage. They have further edited that material. It's the company that takes the images that has the rights. For right or wrong.
The subject has lost entitlements before the event took place.
Your argument is very romantic but on a previous post you rebuked another member because they suggested that the First Division get a look in.
Owen Morrison for goal of the season for me
Excellent - those of us of a slightly older persuasion actively seek out opportunities to express a minority view and this is one.
I really like the 60 thing - her questions are generally nonsense but that is not really the point.
The point is that it is reasonably funny if the player is up for it and it is a good part of an overall excellent show
I think it gives a chance to see a bit of the personality of the players and that is something this league needs badly, for people to be able to connect and indentify with their "local heros".
Ahh, rebuke is harsh given i dont make the rules, am not employed by RTE/MNS and my opinion has no impact whatsoever, an email from me would only carry the same weight as anyone else who contacted them re: First Div.
I personally dont agree with it, and i also have what is sometimes described as a fairly draconian view on tv money in that i think it should be shared equally between all 22 clubs. I'd be castigated for that as well no doubt.
I think the only solution for it is to give me more of a say of what actually happens in the league so i could champion the first div cause ;)
I'm the same, its nowhere near as bad as people are making out. For the casual viewer who may not be a LOI fan it breaks down the barriers and makes them realise there are actually blokes like any other in the game, not just a collective that is pigeon holed and ridiculed.
Alan Cawley was good on last weeks show.
Not just saying that coz he plays for Bray
Mackey was decent enough except for the comment on the Crowe penalty. He seemed to be saying that despite there being no foul, it was right for Bohs to get the penalty because they had been on top and didn't score and therefore 'deserved something'.
Someone might try explaining to him that the keeper is part of the UCD team, and that keeping the ball out of the net is the job he's there to do. :p
Maybe we should consider a rule change whereby after missing a certain number of chances, you're given a penalty.
Agree Five, it was like they were saying Bohs had a right to handed a crazy penalty because they had a number of chances.
The U-16 thing was a joke. Fine interview Big Nose and Big Waist but at least make some attempt to relate it back to the league! One of them mentioned Dessie Byrne and we get a half second flash of him in a Pats jersey. And Foy was mentioned loads without any comment about who he plays for now. We all know were those two play now but the regular non loi Joe doesn't. How fecking difficult is it to interview Foy and Byrne??
As for 60, they need to start leaving the Pale a bit. Surely they can send a local camera man to record the players answers and splice in Jacqui Hurleys questions after if its costing too much to have her running around the country?
