Sorry. It just says: "Sean Prunty sent home due to a heart problem and will more than likely be out for a couple of months."
Hopefully he'll be back soon.
Get well soon Prunts. LTFC legend.
Heard that during the week alright, apparently he has to stop all training until further tests are done. Seems to be a similar situation to Dave Freeman last year. Hope he's back in action before long.
yea read that article meself he was sent home from drogs training camp in spain and was told to stay away from training until further tests are carried out..hopefully its just precautionary and that sean will be back playing before long because he is an absolute hero
awful sorry to hear about sean. was out at the mall this morning to see the lads train and sean was seen coming out of the mall. Whoever wrote that article in the daily mail on thursday about sean prunty has jinxed him im afraid...
Wonder who it is? hmmm....
hopefully sean will come back soon in full health...
btw a coloured lad came in fifteen mins late to the training session and aaron crossed his hands at him and said you cant train you are late!
believe they are training at the mall tommorrow nite at seven if anyones interested in going? ronnies best mate is on trial with them at the moment Adrian Cregg who used to play with Galway Utd...
was fierce impressed with the quality of the training. twenty four people trained which went on for nearly two hours till twelve.. gradually gettin used to the new faces...
A lot of these scares end up being muscular based problems in the chest area as opposed to heart trouble.
My own son had a similar scare and returned fully to the game after a battery of tests and about a six week break.
Hopefully Sean will have a similar outcome.
Yeah heard myself that he had to give up the game. You hear all sorts of dodgy rumours but to say hell be back in a couple of months if all goes well is good to hear. Everyone at longford town is very fond of him so its good to hear it may not be as serious as first heard. Fingers crossed!
Only read about that just now, a bit of a shock, get well soon Sean.
According to Drogheda's forum, Sean's career is unfortunately over as a result of this.
Very sad :(
Its not looking good admittedly but nothing confirmed as over yet. He has to sit tight until more tests are completed
An absolute gentleman, hopefully these tests will give some hope!
just got chatting to sean prunty in the internet cafe in longford just now... he will know in three weeks time whether he can play football again.. really hope it works out for him.. da mans a legend and gentlemen.. hes hopin to go to the match tonight.. I told him hes very welcome to come over to section o where he will get VIP treatment off us...:)
We all dream of a team of Sean Pruntys!
Hope he can go back playing, was a legend for us. All the best sean.
Would love to see him back playing alright, absolute Legend.
see that there was a piece in todays news of the world on sean prunty.. it looks like he is goin to retire... he is in discussions with drogheda utd and the fai re compensation.
hope the powers that be at our club will employ him as a coach bit like charles mbazi livingstone at pats...:(
He's going to have to retire alright. I'd love to see him back here in some shape or form but there probably wouldn't be a lot of money to pay him. It'd be good if he got some kind of farewell game or something, it'll be gutting for him to have to give it up.
Was he being taped for MNS last Saturday:confused:
aye was wondering why the cameras were here?? it surely wasnt to see us play but with eamon donoghues connections you never know...:)
Yeah a Longford Town XI could be very interesting. Drogs would seem logical opponents.
Was chatting to him for a few minutes last night at half time. Only noticed we were being recorded as I walked off... doubht I will feature in it. They will have to bleep so much it will sound like morse code. I need a swear jar :D
A post game event with entry fee could be done also. I for one would do a gig for nothing to get together a few quid for Sean. I went to school with him and his father is our postman, so personal connections there.
Just watchin MNS, just thinking he's lucky that it was discovered when he went to Drogs, (maybe thats a good thing that came out of Longford being relegated, had they not been, he may have stayed and still not know)...Hope all goes well for him in the future and he can get back into the game in another capicity.
Was shocked tho that the FAI have no insurance for the players who have to leave the game due to this illness. Thats a disgrace. As previous poster said, some kind of event to raise someting for Sean would be a great idea.
sean came across very well on the telly considering he was the sort of fellow who did his job quietly and didnt give too many tv interviews... good to see everyone at flancare shaking his hand at da mons match.. shockin that there is no insurance in place for this ..
Is it not the job of the players body to look after them. This is the FAI we are talking about after all:rolleyes:
I for one want to do something to help Sean, lovely and even if he has a bit of an accent;) he is a local lad and one of our own.
There was an excellent interview on sean prunty in todays mail on sunday.. excellent piece by mark gallagher.. It is about sean trials and tribulations since he got injured... My heart went out to him when I read the piece... but its about the highs and lows ... ie he was so browned off one day he punched the tv dont blame him at all for doin that, he hasnt returned to united park since the heart condition...
Its mentioned in the article about a benefit match against Drogheda. Anyone any knowledge on same?
heard thro the club that somethin is bein organised thats all I know myself at the moment!
