Some of these were auctioned at the 77 Celebration dinner thing. Should have no problem selling 50, great value.
I've a gift token for a season ticken can i just bring it into the club shop and by one or whats the story its for €100. I'm a student so will i have to pay a fiver extra?
I'd say they will sell 7 or 8 of them, if there lucky.
It is fantastic value, but it a bit short sighted. If they did sell all 50, thats 50 people who they will not get money off for the next 15 years.
Quick attempt at a solution for a big problem.
Galway united sell over 30 gold corporate season tickets each year for €1,500 each. Sligo are selling themselves well short there.
Didn't hear anything about this but if true then it would go down as the worst management decision of all time. On today's prices and not considering inflation it will be a loss of 100,000 to Sligo Rovers over the term of the agreement. It really baffles me as to how this decision can be taken on the eve of an AGM. In a business where ever euro is treasured like a species heading for extingsion we have people willing to make a gain by loosing twice as much. Is there a logic there :confused:

have to agree with everything said here. very short sighted way to fundraise. very poor decision to do this. just shows there is absolutely no long term objectives or plans.
I could buy one at the moment but wouldn't, it would feel like I was cheating the club, we must be in a desparate state financially if they're resorting to this
yee can all say what yee like about this venture. it may be a knee jerk reaction but the unfortunate thing here is that money is needed really badly
by the club. players need to be signed by the clu "cookie" is getting totally frustrated and there are a lot of other ongoing issues that need to be sorted very quickly. i know that some observers here are saying that the club are short changing themselves but the fact that it is really good value and buy purchasing them at the end of the day we are supporting the club. so now that it is a venture up and running we should start thinking positive and try and promote the sale of these. supporting the club is nr 1 priority. making comments otherwise with regard to how the club trys to generate finance is folly and not supporting the "bit o red"

It does seem a strange one selling 15 years football for E67 a season. Especially as somebody said with inflation that'd be worth next to nothing in 15 year's time. What would the equivalent of E67 in 1993 be worth now - probably a few pints of Guinness and a trip to Abrakebabra!
If they were limited to say 25 tickets, it'd be a short term boost of E25000 to the club but wouldn't have quite as catastrophic effect on matchday income. Not really knowing the ins and outs of LOI finanances would E25k make that much of a difference? We must take about E15000 on the gate at an average match musn't we? (Or are my maths completely banjaxed?)
Yeah, but suppose they manage to sell the tickets to non regulars. Then it seems like a good bit of business to me.

The generation of the 50K is most definitely not to secure players.
For this reason alone the 15 year season ticket is most definitely not a good idea.
Regardless what the money is for; it’s badly needed, drastic times call for drastic measures & I would prefer a risk to be taken on giving Cooke the resources than him ****ing off in a year and us always wondering what if. Rovers have exhausted all other’s generosity and now its time for them to exercise some initiative; People of lesser character would borrow and **** the club up and when all are gone in 5 years we are the ones who will suffer; this is limited risk and no more than Hughies poker classic its worth a try; I will be purchasing one I got a voucher for 100 for a student ticket and my aul fella is giving me the rest.
hi clubman, you have me down to a tee. i am very passionate about the club
and i know what you know but i still endeavour to help the club out as i have being with lotto ticket sales etc. in a nut shell i put my money and other supporters money to the good of the club. i seem to remember that you also doubted my returns with regard to the lotto sales (one of your posts sometime before the x mas). well you can still be a non believer but i have had great success nad generous response from all those great and loyal supporters who willingly put there hands in their pockets in the last few months to help out the bit o red. and they are exactly as i am all naive genuine loyal followers of sligo rovers who only wish for one thing and that is the success of our beloved club. and by the way maybe you dont know as much as i know cause some of that money has just being used to bring in sean doherty. so there now!

finance needed badly. could mean the difference for "cookie" to bring in a few more quality players and that could mean a very good season. i have my sources that the players already there are good and a bit more quality (french guy arriving next few days) added mreans we could surpeise a few teams at start of campaign. but we need more finance now. if you know anybody who wants to purchase 15 year tickets get them to buy immediately. we need a big push on all the fund raising efforts that are currently advertised in all the local papers. all help and funds will be greatly appreciated. if we can generate more preseason finance it could be the catalyst to a great season. i know its a gamble of sorts but are we not much better being competive (say in the top 4 of table) this will generate bigger crowds nad therefore bigger gates to offset the preseason expenditure. where as if we lounge mid table or lower means poorer crowds less finance and over the whole season more financial difficulties. we must take a gamble and support the manager now. he comes across very well nad is an honourable person . if we have a good season it can be the platform to greater things going forward for this club. the support is out there it just needs to be harnessed and all voluntry help to the club would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say tickets for an ALL-Ireland Setanta Cola league match will be about 40 or 50 by then.
I already have a great deal at e33 per showgies trip with this thing and that's without factoring in LC, FAI, and possibly LOI meetings.

i had already bought a season ticket for 190 euro. 810 euro for the next 14 years was too good value to be missed. i cant figure why they are slow selling.
anyone that calls this firefighting to raise finance must understand that the are other ways of putting money back into the club during the 15 yrs eg 400 club, lotto etc
Dont Hesitate Buy Now Great Value But Apart From That You Are Supporting The "bit O Red Now" Right Now. The Future Can Present Many Oppurtnities And Obstacles. But What Is Important Is The Present So It Is Very Important That We Support The Rovers Now In Any Way We Can Because The Game (eircom League) Is Going To Get Better Coverage Improve And We Want To Be On That Bus . We Deserve To Be There Cause We Have A Tradition . We Are A Long Established Club Deserving Of Our Place In The Top Flight And Also The League Needs Us.
