Everton? City? Villa? Pompy?
Personally.....Everton
Close between City, Everton and Spurs. On their day Spurs would be the best but over the course of the season it has to be City.
Everton no contest
Silly question. Just look at the table:
Team GP W D L Pts GF GA GD
Arsenal 21 15 5 1 50 42 16 26
Manchester United 21 15 3 3 48 38 11 27
Chelsea 21 13 5 3 44 33 16 17
Manchester City 21 11 6 4 39 29 22 7
Liverpool 20 10 8 2 38 34 13 21
So Liverpool would be your answer.
Liverpool are fifth
Ha?? How could there not be a contest over such a question? (unless you're a fan of one of the teams of course:))
Annie Waye, Spurs have finished 5th the last two seasons so they probably have the most (objective) claim on the prize. They probably get my vote as well. They had a three month blip, when they were like blimps, at the start of this season. Now that they're a bit fitter (I've never seen Keane as lean) and King has come back they're starting to look like the 5th best team again. Pretty close between them and Everton though, with Everton's loss to Oldham probably swinging my vote towards Spurs. :D
Oh yeah, Metrostars (ya bloody smartass!) you are actually WRONG!!!
You quote the current Premier League table, when the thread title states 'Premiership'. The 'Premiership' is now defunct. Thus, Tottenham will forever be the Premiership's fifth team. (a historical inference to the question would be entirely nonsensical seeing as clubs simultaneously formed the league)
Case closed then. :D
liverpool, spurs or everton
Liverpool!!!
Liverpool
I would go for Everton.
Sunderland
Bolton , alphabetically speaking.
Leeds United.
They've just loaned it out for a while.
Long-term I'd say you're right.
Leeds.
Themselves, Blackburn and to a lesser extent Newcastle are the only teams to have contended for the league outside the current 4 (well 3 really.)
Newcastle
Going on the official stats of all the seasons in the Premiership

Inteeresting, considering Newcastle have played a season less in the Premiership than Everton, Villa and Spurs
Spurs, Everton or Villa for me.
How can spurs be ahead of Everton :D
There is no defined 5th team. the also-rans are all interchangeable. none of them has managed to close the gap on the "Big 4" so much for spurs going to do it this year:rolleyes:
this season Everton have been very good, home and away, City have a very good home record, not as good on the road but stil are higher in the league than Everton.
if you look at some of their players its a tough call to say whos the better team or who has the better players....
spurs have keane, berbatov, king as their 3 best players probably,
city have Elano, Petrov and Dunne or richards
everton have cahill, arteta and yakubu
id prefer evertons, more consistent and reliable imo.
Everton just shade it for me
Blackburn are, as they are the only team to actually do anything in the Premier League bar Arsenal, United, and Chelski. Liverpool get in by default
5th place team is the team that is in 5th at the time , any other criteria is ludicrious
at the mo would say man city but long term think it will be aston villa martin o neill is building and creating a brilliant base for the club to build on and i think they will only get better
I'd say Everton...definately..
They have a brilliant manager in David Moyes. He's built up a great squad on a fairly small budget.
Tim Cahill, Mikel Arteta, Yakubu and Joleon Lescott are all top quality players and would be a lot more highly regarded if they were playing for Man Utd , Chelsea or Liverpool.
I'd say Pompey are the 6th best team. Krankjaer is world class and Sol Campbell and Utaka aren't bad either. I'd like Portsmouth to get into europe this season but I think if Harry Redknapp leaves to join Newcastle I think they may struggle to.
I would say Liverpool.
