Adios to Joey Maloney, Dave Wall and Dave Goldbey. Not necessarily my first choices for the exit. Inevitably had to drop a few bodies I suppose.

was joey maloney not a big hit wit ye, or was it the way his name fit the tune??
He was decent for sure and genial enough that he was well liked by pretty much all. There was never a whole lot of end product with him tbh and with Kevin Waters playing so well and Wayne Colbert seemingly back to play on the wings I don't think he would have started many games. I think he was worth keeping though.
Joey Maloney: always tried even if he wasn't having a great game. would have been a good player to have coming off the bench.
Davy Wall: Wasn't afraid to get stuck in, didn't think he'd be released.
Dave Goldbey: Not really surprised with his departure, average at best.
Wouldn't disagree with much of that. Goldbey looked alright until he got injured first time out and we basically never saw him again. Maloney and Wall are definitely better than a couple of those left behind IMO but we'll wait and see how things pan out before making too big a scene. ;)
Without being too cruel why not Anthony Hayes instead of Davy Wall??
All three never quite good enough tbh but served their purpose, fairplay :ball:
I would not be happy if Joey Maloney went. I can remember a few times when he came on and added an extra spark which turned games in our favour. I think we still need that.
I have a lot of respect for Anthony Hayes, mainly for the fact that you can see that he really puts in a lot of effort, but I have to agree he wouldn't be the best abilitywise. I think the main problem he has is he's not strong enough for a lot of the bigger lads he comes up against.
agree should have kept wall...we dont have too many creative players and in fairness to him he at least tried to keep the ball on the ground when he played and chipped in with a few goals.we have players who can do what hayes does.dont think joey is up to it,seemed to lose confidence after a bright start....goldby the same.
What happened? Did these players not play a huge part in putting l37 where they are in the table? Is it to pay the wages of the boys who have just returned after turning their backs on lim f.c? Its all a bit sad.Iv gone to most of l37 home games this season but i dont think i will bother anymore. Is this the loyalty l37 shows to the players who helped get the club up and running.Has anyone else noticed that the crowd is getting smaller and smaller each week.No loyalty=No crowd=No money=Limerick F.C:D
It's called running a LOI Club. Income does not equal outgoings . Players will always be released when new signings are made. The Team is bigger than individual players and the signings are good for the long term future of the club.
As regarding not bothering going to matches Side Cutter thats your choice but you should support your local team. Don't give up after a few little dramas. These are quite normal in the lifetime of a Limerick supporter. But we still support OUR team.

Thats why he is gone....he couldnt play football tennis!!!
Someone doesnt know what they are doing.
the three lads released certainly made a huge contribution to have us where we are andthe fact their gone is a harsh reality of football....the four recent signings are the intent to move us on to a better level...thats skees call and results, quality of our play will judge those decisions.
We will see, big mistake i think, the lads comming back will not put in the effort that the likes of Davy Wall put in, after not starting the 1st few mtches really cemented his place in the team, then couldn't even make the squad, this will be Ski's downfall,:confused:
Cannot understand how Davy Wall was released he looked like Limericks best footballer in his last match against Shels, surely mcgee should have kept him in the squad
And people were saying he's not a disgrace??
Well i was saying he wasnt a disgrace on terms of being a manager and not looking at his personality but when your personality flaws come onto the sideline its different story. he was funny but then i just couldnt take him seriously after he was playing up to the Wexford fans!!
disgrace is probably a bit harsh........he should cut out his antics alright cause they just seem foolish but i wouldn't call him a disgrace.
