Derry in for Lavine, confirming the end of season rumours... Hopefully the amount will be similar to the rumours stg£10,000....
I'd take that for a 32 year old, and bring in Murphy....

Also Derry away first game of the season I think...
it's still a pish off seeing the likes of him going... but hey the moneys good...
I'd take the money, and while it maybe harsh to say he simply didn't do it enough last season - his goal drought could have cost us our premier league place....Quote:

Adrian Murphy for a starting position next season....
Do yis think that your board will accept the offer of 30,000 for him?
Would yis like to see him go, if that money is correct?
Matthews said in one of todays tabloids that he wouldn't sell him but what do you think.....good value or bad value for 30K?
for 30,000 we'd be foolish not to sell him... He suffered a goal drought in his first season with us and he suffered one last year when he didn't score for three months... now 30,000 for a thirty two year old is great money considering we have a gem in Adrian Murphy waiting to be unleashed... Anyway... Sean Francis was bought for 10,000 and that is great value...
is Adrian Murphy defo up for first team this season? If he works out then Lavine can be sacraficed definitley for 30K
Regardless of whether Murphy is ready for the first team (he's defo worth a regular bench place next season) IMHO 30k is excellent business for us..... personally I'd snap their hands off....
I would be sorry to see him go but 30000 euros for a 32 year old that is a lot of money. Adrian Murph can be brought as a sub but who would you get to replace him? Maybe Paul McTiernan of Sligo Rovers ?
murphy is scoring for mels, he's from a bog gaah family, they might consider an english offer but can the town compete with the call of the gaah?
that just isnt true - there is no focking way his family would ever get in the way of his progression through the ranks of any football (soccer) league, regardless of their GAA interests. If he is treated properly by the Town or any other team who wants him, i'm sure like any other player he will want to stay.Quote:

i reckon his scoring for the Longford underages is more notableQuote:

the power of the gaa ties are not to be underestimated... If longford town won the double and longford county got to the leinster semi final (I know i know never going to happen!) which do you think would get the bigger coverage and support!
How does my crest look by the way?
which is decent enough to pay wages, Footbal or GAA??? Can't see a young player like that, who has had the ambition of this happening since he was knee high and all that, thrwoing away all he has worked for
crest v. nice by da way;)
Hmmm maybe wrong, but I thought he had strong family connections with de Town..... Longford Bogball vs De Town there can only be one winner - who's got the best chance of success? Obv us, I'd say....
they're not exactly strong ties but that's I know for a fact any other 'ties' are not strong enough to get in the way of what he wants
Is there any other kind of GAA family?:DQuote:

I think it is unfair that Murphy's family has been labelled so. For what it is worth, I believe the statement to be completely false.
Hmmm nice crest... anyway 30,000 euro for a 32 year old, even though he was our top scorer two seasons running, that sort of money will get us one or two decent younger players for that.... i will be sorry to see him go though.
pauro, alway the man to bring the thread back to its original topic!
Apparently
Adriano Murphio is not interested in GAA once he does his leaving and he wants to play soccer professionally.
