I'm trying to upgrade my mobile phone and trying to find a new one. My current one is a Motorola V3 which I hate, and I've been asking people about theirs but everyone seems to hate their phones at present.
I'm with O2, and moving to Bill Pay. I need a phone that just is easy to call and text with really, I don't want a camera, radio or mp3 really. Anyone out there have a phone that they reccomend?
If all you want is a phone to text or call with; try the new Motorola F3. Does nothing else. Just what a phone should be! Simple and cheap.
I've got a Nokia 6230i at the moment. It has a camera but pretty basic otherwise. Not a big fan though. I'm going to go Sony Ericsson for my next phone, they tend to be full of gadgets though.
Still hard to beat a basic Nokia if all ya want is cheap and the ability to make calls and send texts.
Just ordered a Nokia 6234 as a free upgrade from Vodafone.
Had a Nokia 6230i and was happy enough with it and since this is the updated 3G version saw no reason to get one of these new fangled ones.
Does anyone actually use 3G stuff?

Great battery life.
We deal with Vodafone here in work and according our account manager they don't stock a lot of Nokia phones because they all fail the quality testing.Quote:

Yes and no. The OpenMoko will be free across the board - software and hardware - if it comes to fruition, but I don't know whether that'll actually happen or not; the Sharp Zaurus runs on Linux, but getting one is tricky; and there are a rake of Linux-based phones on the way - notably from MOT - but I don't know how open the applications on them will be. Some phones are certainly more open than others though: the Palm phones based on PalmOS, for example, are definitely more platform independant than other smartphones. They stock more Nokia, than any other brand.
If their testing was as good as they claim, they'd never have approved the Nokia N91.
With regard to Operating Systems, all the N Series phones from Nokia, run on Symbian S60, which is Unix based.

have the Nokia 6020 , cheap and cheerful does all i want really and the battery is really good
Have the motorola V360 and biggest problem have had with it is the charger. Am on my 3rd charger in 2 years as they go dodgy after awhile and wont charge properly. Luckily Carphone Warehouse give me a free one when I go in to complain!
Had thought of changing my phone but tbh bar not having an mp3 player on it am happy enough with it. Got my son the Sony Ericsson W300i for Christmas & he loves it. When I do upgrade I hope to get a Sony Ericsson.
I refuse to have a Nokia coz they are like clit's....every **** in the country has one.
i have nokia N90 , love it , easy to use , brilliant movie camera , uploads in seconds to my PC , its rather large but i like that too.
I may upgrade to the new nokia N95 once i see how a friend of mine gets on with his one but really i am happy with the phone i have
