URGENT PRODUCT RECALL
Trading Standard Officers have ordered the urgent recall of a defective product found to be faulty and dangerous.
Over the Christmas and New Year period, tests proved the components in the product called "Chelsea FC" would fall apart when placed under the smallest amount of pressure. Consumers first experienced problems last year, when it was noted the product failed to work properly in Europe.
Complaints were made about it malfunctioning and then emitting a continuous whining noise - usually in Portuguese. At the time the complaints were ignored. But when the product started falling apart in Britain over Christmas, the Trading Standards Authority took action.
A spokesman warned: "We particularly want to stress to parents that, with Chelsea FC, there is a genuine risk of choking that may end in tears come May.
Despite assurances from the company behind the product that action was taken to correct the faulty parts, including abandoning the use of the highly unpredictable and sub-standard component "Robert Huth", malfunctions have continued.
Consumers have been urged to check the small print carefully for the words "this product may contain traces of Shevchenko". If that is the case buyers of the product are urged to put it back in its
box and return immediately. "Shevchenko" has been known to cause a severe allergic reaction in many consumers, causing them to shout involuntarily "You useless Ukrainian t**t and "For f*** sake, bring back Carlton Cole "
Brilliant!!!!
:D :D :D
Watching the repeats of the Scousers 2nd goal anyone think Cashley Cole stood off Pennant, should have charged him down studs, body, anything, take him out (aka McAteer) concede a foul, before he was unable to shoot...............;)
Maybe has something to do with they are mates off the field, and out partying the week before !!!
Usual tripe out of Jose after the match. The Special One doesn't have any answers to his team falling apart so he heaps the blame on Shevchenko, a fantastic striker that would show what he is capable of if only Chelsea would play to his advantages. He'll never do anything stuck floating around behind Drogba, he needs balls played in front of him for him to run on to.
"Falling apart": second in the League, Champions League last 16, League Cup semi and FA cup last 32.
Don't know what that makes the other teams: diabolical ??
A defeat tonight though by Wycombe and perhaps that phrase could be used with the word "starting" before it.
"Chelsea falling apart" :D Football is a funny old game.
The quality of football reporting in England is dire. MUFC were practically awarded the league last month when 6 points was the gap and there were well over 10 games to play. Unbelievable, especially when everyone knows they still have to play each other and a bit of bad luck or an injury or two can change everything. 2 bad results in a week around Easter can change everything too and frquently has in the past. As for the extent to which Chelsea were written off - unbelievable. Likewise their hatcheting of Shevchenko.
Another classic example is the dismay at England's draw in Israel. If only I'd put my money where my mind was as a draw was the only result I could see in that game for weeks in advance. As The Guardian pointed out just afterwards, the only thing less inspiring than the performance was the print media's analysis of it!
In fairness, the Premiership is fair interesting this year.
For all the reasons to hate Chelsea, I'd still prefer Mourinho gloating than Sir Red Nose.
Sam Alardyse would be the perfect replacement for Jose as he'd improve the quality of their football.
Although Chelsea deserved their victory last night, it was their physical attributes and strength of character rather than their football that got them victory. That's all very well against a jaded Valencia side but I can't see them getting past Liverpool who will have many more strings to their bow.
Can't see them getting past a team they've proven to be far better than this year and the previous 3/4? Strange one. I'm not saying it'll be easy but the Chelsea team that plays the semi final will be far far stronger than the team that was "humiliated" 2-0. if memory serves me right, the centre halves that day were Essien and Ferriera
Valencia had 14 outfield players to choose from for the Chelsea match. Mainly injuries but also suspensions have left the squad looking quite threadbare. Rotation has not been an option. Edu, Baraja, Vicente, Regueiro and Gavilán have been out for virtually the whole season and Del Horno only started playing in the last couple of weeks. Mind you, with the higher tempo of football in the Premier League, Spanish teams in general tend to fade towards the end of games played at an "English" speed.
I'm going on what I've seen of the two teams in Europe rather than in the premier. Liverpool's dismissal of Barça was far more impressive than Chelsea's performance against Valencia. I have to admit that I don't watch the premier much and therefore haven't seen either team play on a regular basis this year. But at the moment Liverpool seem to be playing well, Benitez is more at home in European games and Chelsea look pretty one-dimensional most of the time (Joe Cole does make a difference though). You're right that results would seem to indicate that Chelsea are favourites, but I get the impression that they won't get past Liverpool.
Well it seems pretty obvios to me that Chelsea have a remarkable stamina.
Chelsea will do well to beat Liverpool in the Semis. At least Terry's back for this one. I think the team is looking a lot better now then they were back then in Anfield.
As a Chelsea fan, here's hoping.
Yes, and it is interesting that they don't seem to have a huge squad of the players or else Mourinho doesn't bother with the fashionable rotation system and seems to put out the same 11 each week when he can and here they are competing for everything and scoring goals late on in games. Perhaps Arsene Whinger should take note and actually play his stonger teams in all competitions instead of another season without a trophy.
hate when chelsea talk about there injury crisis with all the money they've spent on players and the squad they have, it was just an exuse he tried to use when they seemed to be in trouble, there a great side, but they do make a meal of alot of things!!
1 player doesn't make a team.
Man Utd are down to 2 defenders and a reserve keeper.
The laugh of it all is people talk about Chelseas injury problems etc, but it hasn't been that bad.
Man Utd at one point had ONE striker for a period of time, we are now down to TWO defenders.
That's not mentioning various other injuries through out the season.
Oh dont tell me, the mancs are starting to come out with the excuses already. If you dont win it, its because you were not good enough, FACT. We will not win the league this year because the new players did not settle in at the beginning of the season and our away form was terrible.
PS: Your goal yesterday was offside. Better get Mike Riley lined up for the last day of the season, you might need a few penalties v West ham at O.T.
well Chelsea officially blew it today if you ask me, while there's still hope for them I think this draw will shatter their confidence
I actually think Citeh, the bitters and chavs away will be where Man u will drops points. It would be Citeh's season to beat the mancs and/or cause them to lose the league. The bitters are on good form at the moment overall. Ok they messed up at the weekend but that typical Everton in London at the end of the season. I really dont think Man u have the team to beat Chelsea at the bridge.
Chelsea will only get a draw v Arsenal but will win all the rest of their games.
Drogba impressed me yesterday. He didn't roll round once (as if shot by a sniper).
S Carr had a decent game at LB but Chelski were poor. They've grounded out results this season and have done well to battle their way into contention but as a team they are as entertaining as playing darts.
Now we know why Michael B's form wasn't so good this season. Spending too much time in court :D
