Good call SH. looking on the net and cant find a single pub!!
Hope ye had better luck than me, I googled, yahooed and a few other search sites and got no bars:( loads of restuarants. Even checked the yellow pages for one over there(1 cafe bar just). Hotel bar might be only option unless we bring our own marquee and beer with us:D
There's a place called the Posto Pubblico in San Marino. It seems though, as is the case with the bars in Rimini, that they don't open until late (9pm or so). I know it's hard to believe ,and it seems pretty messed up to me, but seemingly there's a world that exists where people don't go to the pub in the middle of the day. The hotel bar it is so!
Thats Italy for you. I've been to Udine a few times big enough city there was nothing open between 2 - 7. It looks like we'll have to do what we done in Stuttgart main square buy the shops out of alcohol set up shop in their main square. But surly some clever bar owner will see the light and try earn a few quid in the off season.
20 dgrees in rimini today , we'll need sunblock!!
Isn't our man Mento on the job
Hopefully ( if the head's better  ) he'll have sussed out the situation and arrange something :)
I'm getting worried check this out http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel...rino-BR-1.html
Ah in fairness...im sure some little san marinian(?) publican will have a bit of forsight and open up,,doubt they will have as much efficiency and germans with all the portaloos in the square though!!(god ya have to love the germans)
Mento on his way to San Marino at the moment and then on to Bologna (but head behind in Rimini  ) Sent him a PM before his post recommending the Bounty saying that finding a watering hole in San Marino was now the most crucial part of his mission.
I'm sure he'll put the word out in San Marino and find us a place. If not it's off to the offies for stacks of cans or bottles. (Trailer required for GT BUS )
Maybe he might stay and engage in a little private enterprise by purchasing a marquee and a few portaloos but forget his Rip off Ireland roots :o
cheers
From Mento's trip it appears that there will NOTHING open in San Marino, or any where near the stadium:(
Should we now ALL congregate at The Bounty in Rimini, before making our way to the stadium an hour or so before kick-off?
I wonder if the driver of our Bologna Bus will mind us staying for a few jars at the Bounty before dropping us off in San Marino?..........question for Supasparx I think.
I'd be up for that, the more places we see the better, so add rimini to the trip!
Ye that's a good idea.
Bus will be longer than taxi to the ground so allow for a 40 min trip from the bounty.
Look what's coming though! They were talking about snow this week as well. San Marino will be colder still. Looking forward to the bit of camping now! :p
To be honest I'd rather not change any of the arrangements for the bus at this stage. I'm sure we'll make San Marino lively enough. Even if we end up partying on the bus with a few beers and some good tunes!
I also know that a few on the bus would like to take a little look around the place, even if there is f all to see.
Sure isn't most of the fun of an away trip in the ' finding out for yourself '.
fair enough. pack the bus with booze so!
Cant wait for the trip now but I have a nice little trip this weekend to Seville first to catch Betis V Valencia. 20 degrees in Seville at the moment also.
