Good news. Maybe they will show the goals from their previous games that nobody here saw cos the stations here couldnt be arsed.
KOH
BBC NI I presume
Great news
BBC2.
Were RTÉ just not interested or did Derry want to reach the largest audience?
According to Station Manager at Radio Foyle yesterday, Derry preferred BBC because it guaranteed everyone in North West could see it as some places cannot get RTE reception.
Also BBC guaranteed a free satellite linkup to Millenium Forum where 1,000 tickets are almost sold to watch game there at £5 per ticket - every penny going to Children's Hospice.
BBC deserve it as they (and UTV) have given considerable exposure to the previous rounds with highlights, goals, interviews etc.
RTE on the other hand.............
BBC takes its public service remit seriously. RTE does not.
Of course the other factor is that the French channel showing it would have need outside broadcast units and it's cheaper to get BBC or RTE to do that than bring everything from France. Therefore they probably got a better rate from BBC as well.
The Brandywell game is next week I think, the 14th.
In fairness David, the EL can only aspire to a 5pm Saturday goals and highlights show like BBC NI show (I know they don't do many live games bar the Cup final).
We have to wait until the middle of Monday night for a Waynes World-esque broadcast with dodgy editing, poor or non-existant footage and presenters so wooden they make Jackie Fullerton sound good.
the second leg(Away) is live on setanta on the 28th.
Good luck to Derry.
Nice to see the game being kept at the Brandywell.
The match is being covered by Eurosport as well, so those without BBC NI will be able to see it
At the moment, the game is on BBC2(NI), Canal+Sport(FRA) and Sport 1(UKR).
More channels can get in on the act before Thursday.
The eircom League gets decent enough coverage now lads. TV3's eL weekly is very poorly put together but it is better than nothing. Perhaps in future something better can be sought.
Great news that BBC NI is showing the game; I hope Derry benefit considerably from TV money; it is a pity that some southern viewers will not be able to see it.
Yup, it is a ukranian station.
God bless Ukrainian gamblers...
Confirmed live for British Eurosport now....

Brandywell Stadium holds a capacity of 7700 places. Nevertheless, the conditions of safety not being the same ones for the European competitions, this one is brought back to 3 400 places for the match of Thursday. If the PSG espérit to evolve/move in a larger stage, Lansdowne Road of Dublin (32 000 places) for example, the leaders of Derry preferred to maintain the meeting in their cave in order to complicate the task of the Parisian ones. Paris will be able however to count on the support of approximately 400 fans Rouge and Blue. PSG.FR proposes to you to follow as of Wednesday the Parisian ones in Derry through reports and exclusive photographs.
If they think the Brandywell is a cave, thank God they never made it to some of the other EL grounds.
As stated elswhere, PSG sent cameramen over to the Brandywell a few weeks ago to try and build a case to UEFA to get the game moved to Lansdowne.
We all live in the Randy Brandy cave, the Randy Brandy cave.......
I don't known if the Bandywell cave follodlights are good enough?
