Really, when did this happen?
Errrr, I wasn't being serious.
No Hernertstowns match was off. All matches involving, Herbertstown, Hill Celtic and Park Rangers were cancelled at the weekend. These teams games will be postponed until a decision is made. But hill celtic can appeal to the Munster Council and the FAI so this could go on for a long time.
Park should have been left in the Premier, never heard of such nonsense before.
Exactly, Park should have not been allowed to drop a division. They have B and C teams so they should have been told to use the players from those teasm to make an A team.
Also, lets just say Park were to win 1A this year. Will they be allowed to go straight back into the premier league?
And what exactly is nonsense?
is it that
One club were big enough to state before a ball was kicked that they felt the club would not be in a position to fulfill all of their premier fixtures, and asked the LDL for support and advice?
Is it that
in the interest of the game the LDL made a decision that the club be removed from the premier and the next placed team in 1A be placed in the premier?
Is it that
One of the relagated teams (there are 2) from last years premier feel that they should be allowed back in?
I really enjoy concise one liners that add absolutley nothing to the discussion, but please elaborate on why you think park should have been forced to remain in Premier.
   This was brewing for 2 years now and it finally resulted in this mess. Park and newtown in shannon were suppose to merge and a few from both clubs did not want that happening so there was bad feeling from both sides as far back as that. Had a feeling that it would erupt this season, but why did park leave it so late to tell the LDMC about tere bad situtation is beyond me, now the 2 leagues are fecked up over it.
Park Have not B and C teams as these teams have been withdrawn from the LDL the only team Park have enterd is the team in division 1A. Also Park were not "allowed" to drop a division this was a decision of the LDL based on all the available information and taken in the best interest of the league
park were hopeful that things would be fine, but players normally don't sign until just before the season starts. When most of the players left they had no option but to tell the league of their situation . It is better that they did this as can you imagine b and c players getting well beaten each week. do you think they would have turned up for all fixtures? I don;t think so and if you miss 3 matches you are thrown out of the league. Which would be worse.
There are too many clubs in shannon for them to work properly and players can easily drift between clubs, there is very little loyalty left, which most will agree.
You could also say that if Herbertstown didn't finish in an automatic promotion place that they don't merit a place in the Premier League. If it's a two up and two down rule then I think they have a strong case. As a matter of interest OK, if Hill Celtic won their appeal at MFA or even FAI level do you think that the LDMC would leave the matter rest. I noticed that the whole Waterford Junior league council resigned last year owing to the fact that the MFA ruled against them on a number of cases that were appealed to them.

This is not accurate. After a year of meetings the Park representatives came to a meeting and declared that things could go no further unless Newtown agreed that Parks ground would be the main ground for development and for first team matches. This was supposed to be because they had the better facilities. The fact that Newtown had state of the art dressing rooms built and Park had a container seemed to be ignored. The 3 pitches in both grounds were of similar quality.
Newtown wanted an independent consultant to do a survey to help decide and on that basis whichever ground came out on top from both saleibility and developement aspects that would decide.
Park couldnt agree so the discussions came to an end amicably.
We are now at a situation that Park are in trouble and Newtown may be sitting on a gold mine as they have been offered a lucrative deal for their land.
Thanks for clearing that up for me shelbourne
[QUOTE=shelbourne1904;520750]so they will be selling there pitches?
so why didn't they move down to the park pitch . Or maybe they will turn down that lucrative deal to stay on the 'best' pitches in shannon. One question, how much water does their pitch hold during the winter?? (Olympic swimming pool comes to mind)
Well all I can say is that there are as many opinions as there are people and each one may have merits. The same decision was made in 1B 2A 2B and no other teams decided to appeal the decisions indeed the other relagated team did not appeal.
The actual rule is as follows
Rule 53
"The winners and runners up in all leagues will be promoted and the bottom two teams in each league will be relegated. Note: The committee will have the right to promote any team as they deem fit to fill any vacancy that may occur in the league"
If you read the second part of the rule it is self explanatory
Regarding the MFA for better or worse they can make any decision they see as fair applying the rules. that is the way it is so I dont see the committee resigning if the decision is not of their liking! smacks of throwing the toys out of the pram.
I cant see it going past the mfa either way - if they rule against the ldmc then old keeper has said it will be accepted. if they rule against hill celtic then they wont be able to bring it further as they dont have a pot to **** in.
They could I suppose copy their neighbours and organise a door to door collection:)
Why don't Hill Celtic and Herbertstown play a one off game and the winner plays in the premier. IMO Park should remain in the premier and let the season pan out .
Well PU, i seen Herbertstown play a few times last year and I can honestly tell you that they wouldn't last pi$$ing time in the Premier League.
Regarding Hill celtic's situation, they were very close to staying up last year, indeed it went to the final game and Park just finished ahead of them.
By the way i have no connection whatsoever to Hill Celtic before you ask.
