Does anyone know what date/time this game is on in the League Cup? Un/surprisingly the internet has not a plethora of information on the cup. I always try to coincide my trips home to the Emerald Isle with a Lims match.
Cheers

Until a date is finalised it night help to know that it is schedueld for a midweek game in the week of the 8th of May. The betting would be either Tuesday or Wednesday of that week.
From what I saw at Mounthawk Park last night it should prove a handy tie for Limerick. Though it does depend on what kind of a team NOC puts out. The standard of football on show was terrible from both teams, although Kilkenny played better as a unit and on the whole probably deserved better than a 2-0 defeat. Kerry's first goal was very controversial. From my vantage point I couldn't say for certain whether the ball crossed the line or not, but it didn't look like it did. There was no doubt about the second. A superb individual goal from Chris Kearns. He, along with other ex Limerick players Stephen O'Mahony and James Sugrue were best for Kerry but their standard has dropped a little from their Limerick days. I'll be looking forward to the match to see how the Kerry lads fare and I do hope that some support comes from the Kingdom for the match. No idea when exactly the match is on only what LFC in exile has said above.
Agree Kerry Blue with your analsyis. I was visiting de Folks for the Hols so went along as well. Lims will have no probs beating the Kerry League if they field a full strength side. Although from Stevie and Jame's reaction after the final whistle, the tie will not be a foregone conclusion.
A small matter of repaying some debts to our local Butcher comes to mind:D
Limerick will play the Kerry League in the 2nd round of the eircom League Cup on Wednesday, May 8th, k.o. 7.30pm.
I presume that's Wednesday the 10th. :ball:Quote:

Now when the game is on lets all be extra careful not to upset the poor dears like last time  :)
Are we likely to play our strongest XI, well in Noel's opinion, in the game?
mounthawk park is k.d.l.'s ground ya?Quote:

We'll be well up for it tonight, we are definitely underdogs goin into the game but we did deservedly dispose of Kilkenny in the last round. Limerick away is a very tough draw but we will give it our best shot anyway!
I think it will be a close one tonight!
Yeah....like 3-0 close.....
It could be an opportunity for the kerry players to see could they step up to this level, some might put themselves in the shop window hoping to impress noc.and playing league of ireland like other kerry players.I still believe we should be strong enough
Lol :D
I tink that Stephen O'Mahony, Chris Kearns, Timmy Lynch, James Sugrue and David Conway have suffered already under the rule of NOC. The last thing they need is to impress that gom :) . Maybe a bit of bite in this match as they will have a point to pruve to thier former manager.
Any news on the Lease ? or is de rumour true about Moving to de Markets field thats doing de round true;) better off out of the ****HOLE that is Hogan park !!!
All we hear about is ex-Limerick players playin for Kerry like the likes of Mahony,Sugrue etc, however Kerrys best player in my opinion is "Goosey" Rahilly (our centre-back), not to mention Mark Fitzgerald and David Hayes in centre-mids.
Whatever the result tonight, I bet the players mentioned will be the ones who stand out for us (that is if they decide to travel!!)
Should be a great game...
Shane Guerin...cracking header 89th min....
Easy win obviously....;)

Limerick deserved it and best of luck for the remainder of the competition....still think we gave a good account of ourselves, was right in saying that the game would be a close one!Quote:

I am afraid we were near full strength and we were terrible. Kevin Waters is not a striker no more than Robbie is a winger. Kerry were not as bad as some posters here may think, they gave a very good account of themselves and if Kerins was there last night who knows what may have happened............Quote:

Rose for McCarthy 75mins.
As I've said near full strength, only Heff missing, we were restricted to free kicks and corners no real clear cut chances from open play apart from Lesters half volley on 10 mins.TBH extra time wouldn't have been an injustice to Kerry, crowd was way down (as expected), interesting spectator last night was Pat Dolan all dolled up in a 3 piece suit:eek: behind the goals at the far side of the ground, wonder if the lease is nearly upon us, anyway we were ****e last night but more importantly we won, I think last night was a case of the result was more important than the performance.

they would have been worse.
[QUOTE=declan hide]thats funny considering hes the best player in kerry at the momentQuote:

best player in kerry? wow. some claim to fame.
he didnt play one good game for limerick. for an experienced winger as you called him he was never in the right position and the right time.
the bomber liston would be more of a threat than him!
the best player i ever saw in kerry was pat jennings. and he was only on a few days hols in ballybunion.
u obivously have a very low opinion of kerry soccer.i think u should check out the number of players that have gone to england and scotland in the last 5 years from kerry, kennedy cup results, national cup results(our club are playing shelbourne in u13 nat semi tomoro) and eircom u21 results.add in all the fantastic facilities going up around the county and you will see how strong the game is down here.Quote:

You also have to realise the boy is only 19-20 years of age, confidence makes a better player, and I think after a few dodgy games(and abuse from certain corners) for the blues last term his confidence was shot to bits. Kevin Waters has bags more experience(Premier) than Kerins and I've seen mothing from him as yet.Quote:

No I wasn't there, too busy with other things at the moment. By the way, how much was it to get in?Quote:

Much as I hate to say it I have to agree with you. I saw him play several times before he joined the eircom League when he went to St. Pat's and I thought at that stage he would make it. He obviously didn't do it in Dublin and I can't really remember him performing well in any game for Limerick except for one of the away games against Kildare last year. Now that he's back home he looks impressive again but I think that is because Junior football is his level, and I don't think he'll ever make the grade in the eL.Quote:
