Fallujah - White Phosphorous

RaiUno, the Italian TV channel, is going to broadcast a documentary tonight which seems to provide evidence that the US used chemical weapons (specifically, white phosphorous) on civilians in Fallujah. Will this turn out to be the straw that breaks Bush's back, or will it simply disappear into the mire? RaiUno have made the documentary available online in advance of the broadcast:

Surely is grim stuff but alas not surprising. The whole incident in fallujah was brushed under the carpet very easily. NO media access under thread of being shot was highly suspicious.

Would also warn people the images in the link are disturbing.

America - still the only country in the world to have ever used weapons of mass destruction.

Still one of the few to have used chemical weapons in warfare - particularly in the last 30-40 years.

Where did you get that documentary from ? Is it being aired anywhere ?

It was all I could do to sit through this programme, but I made sure I did.

But is/has this doumentary been aired anywhere ? Rai1 is an Italian channel - the documentary is in English. Suggests to me that, at least in that format, it won't be aired on R1

Scary, those bombs on little huts one anda half minutes in are very disturbing.
I just stopped to think when i realised that its not a picture out of a movie.

No way this is going to be broadcast over here anyway i'd say.

There is two versions of the documentary on their site, one in english one in italian. Perhaps they may air both versions on their channel. Or air it with dual soundtrack.

Right - we should all send that link to everyone we know.

There is no other way that alternative views/information like this will ever get disseminated.

This sort of thing will fly around cyberspace if everyone does their bit to get it out there.

While Irish chaps (and chapesses) are perfectly entitled to email Tony Blair, he's perfectly entitled to not give a toss what you say; because you don't have a vote in the UK, and he doesn't have a mandate when it comes to you.

You have a vote in Ireland though; and your councillors, TDs and An Taoiseach rely on it. And they do have a mandate when to comes to you.

Why not send Bertie an email, or better yet a letter, and ask him if any of those White Phosphorous shells were on the US military jets that stop in Shannon; or if any of the airmen that dropped them travelled through Shannon? Why not ask your TD(s) to ask him too? And your local council if you're feeling energetic.

That's what I'm going to do.

Israel used white phosphorus during the siege of Beirut in September 1982 and guess what folks, it was all swept under the carpet. Also NATO used depleted uranium when attacking Yugoslavia in 1999.

I'm pretty sure DU was used in the first Iraq war too, under Bush Senior's authority.

That's correct. I've seen a number of people suggest it's linked to Gulf War Syndrome. I don't know if that link was examined properly though.

Saw a very disturbing docu on the children born with physical deformities, in the aftermath of the first attack on Iraq by the Bush war machine. It was shown that the DU was directly responsible.

I saw it on the "Crooks and Liars" website a couple of nights ago. Dreadful.

I fail to see why anyone should be surprised. The hypocracy of the US has stunk for many years.

Pressure on Iran not to develop nukes yet Israel has nukes & is not signed up to any international treaty. The US won't sign up to landmine ban. I could go on...

I'd be surprised if footage makes US networks as i'm sure they will be pressurised to censor themselves.

Is it any wonder suicide bombers are queuing up to attack them....?

I have been posting it on a few US message boards .... reasonable, non-argumentative, non-flaming approach is definitely best ..... some mad debates and some seriously dumb people out there but there is good debate to be had. And even if networks are carrying this story, its not being told like it should ..... you'd have to seriously worry what they are being subjected to over there, it aint perfect here either i know but lord above they are brain washed it seems !! :eek:

Face, could you post a few links to those boards? Not directly to the relevant threads though, I don't want to start an invasion. I'm just curious about the mindset is all.
