would it be possible for someone in Ireland to tape the match with a tv card on the computer and stick the file online somewhere? Would love to see it again.Quote:

Cheers Eirebhoy .. I posted up on another board maybe some kindly soul there can help us out. The folks are putting matches online all the time there .. but whether anyone has a subscription to Setanta is another thing.
I recorded this on DVD last night. I'll convert it to AVI and upload it as a torrent later today. The more people that download it the faster so I'll post a link on Maxxed's site too the "classic matches" forum.
feckin magic!! its definitely one to treasure .. thanks a lot for recording it. Brilliant.Quote:

I think Eirebhoy meant that he would post here and on that other page too, so that more people will download the file, the faster the process will take.Quote:

Agreed, but no for Packie Bonner it wasn't. Made him a nervous wreck as he couldn't cope with it.Quote:

Quality not the best.
Someone may help me out here lads, no idea what this bit torrent stuff is. I've donloaded that torrent-what do I do next? Do I need a program of some sort? Says it doesn't recognise the file extension or somethin.
Cheers.
You need a bit torrent client that uses the torrent file to download from others that are using the same torrent. I use Azureus - www.azureus.com
Download and install it, then us it to open the torrent file, depending on how many other people are using the same torrent the file should download fast enough
Thanks a lot Eirebhoy .. looking forward to downloading that when I got home from work. How big is the file?Quote:

But I'll leave it switched on when it's done.
I've seen the match now. That was some team.
Bonner
Morris - Moran - McCarthy - Hughton
Houghton - Whelan - McGrath - Galvin
Aldrige - Stapleton
And Quinn coming on for Stapo and Sheedy for Galvin.
When you see that lineup you can hardly call it a "shock" that they beat England. They were playing them off the pitch at times (save the last 15 minutes). Some of the passing leading up to the attacks was lovely, especially that one where Houghton tried to curl it inside the post from the left.
Probably the best Ireland team ever in terms of class players all over the pitch.
Wim ****in Kieft and his jammy goal.
I would never forgive her if that had been me !
I can't believe Hamilton's commentary for that game ... ffs.. i don't understand why they can't just ask Gabriel Egan to commentate on games .. or just use his radio commentary ... I would love to get my hands on the radio commentary of the game .. and put the audio file on the avi file above. I remembering hearing it years ago ... the crescendo that builds up from Galvin to Houghton, and Egan goes mental as you would ... and should .. first time in the big time and we're 1-0 up against after 6 minutes, against England.
Or get Declan Drake to do the games .. he might be liable to start shouting "Maggie thatcher, maggie thatcher your boys have taken a hell of a beating" and break into a nation once again.
anyone know where you might be able to get this match and the russian one on video or dvd?
would love to have them as part of my collection.
without doubt the best of the tournaments we had football wise
Yeah, Hamilton's commentary is dryer and drosser and more monotonous than usual in that match. Bloody awful.
And he kept calling Quinn "Neill" instead of Niall and Ray Houghton "the little Scot."
Even Jimmy McGee is better, he knows as little about football commentary as Hamilton but at least he gets a bit excited. Gabriel Egan is the best of a bad lot.
I say let Michael O'Murtehgahahghghahghg (or however you spell it) do the TV soccer.
