16 year old U17 midfielder Aaron Ochoa Moloney made his senior debut for Malaga in the Copa del Rey against Eldense earlier!
Came on as a first half substitute for Hernandez.
Apparently he's the second youngest player ever to appear for them!

Great job by the lad
I was disappointed to see Malaga are 3rd tier
I remember when a player born in 2007 was a sign that I'd been playing Football Manager too long.
Hopefully can get some more game time given the level they play at and the team they played are a division higher than them.
Got ten minutes off the bench for a league debut. Got booked.
Looked tidy on the right of a 3. Small but bit of bite in him. Good game and great atmosphere for him to be part of
‘…reminds me of Gavi’
Cap him now!
Will be playing second division football in Spain next season after Malaga were promoted through the playoffs after beating Gimnastic.
Malaga were leading the tie 2-1 from the first leg, until a second half equaliser from Gimnastic sent the game to extra time. A second goal in extra time put Gimnastic ahead. Moloney(wearing number 35 in the clip below) came on just before Malaga's first goal, which would have sent the game to penalties if not for a 121st minute equaliser from Cordero which put them through 4-3 on aggregate!
Started today in Málaga's return to the Segunda División.
I'm sure he would be close to spains underage team s. For comparison this lad has played for spains 16s and 17s in the last year https://www.transfermarkt.co.in/jose...pieler/1176512 https://www.malagacf.com/en/news/jos...o-spains-u-16s and hasn't it seems been involved in malaga 1st team
He’s in the starting line up for Malaga right now against Huesca. The match is on Premier Sports 2 for anyone interested.
Started again this evening away to Granada.
Ours to lose.
Missed the last few weeks of the season after having ankle surgery
Malaga are currently 15th out of 22 in the Segunda Division with two games to go, and eight points clear of the relegation zone, so he'll be playing in the same division next season.
Only turned 18 a month ago, and will still be eligible for the U19 qualifiers in November
Scored his first senior goal in the Copa del Rey last night, at 2:48 below
We really need this young lad, and any other midfield talents, to make it.
first league goal of the season last night against Mirandes, in a 2-1 loss

What's the UK equivalent of the Spanish 2nd division...League one?
Always hard to know for sure, but I'd say you're about right. I think Spain drops off in strength more sharply than England (maybe Germany too)
Second tier in Italy/Spain wouldn't be as strong as the equivalent placing in second tier England.
That said, Málaga are top six and that's maybe top half Championship? It feels decent enough for an 18-year-old.
Hes been in around the Malaga 1st team since he was 16. Its would be nice to see him progress into a more regular starter soon.
Signs a new contract with Malaga until June 2029
