Boll*x.
toughest draw, and least financial return......:(
Considering the rest of the teams in their group, it could've been a lot worse.
Only Levski Sofia or that Ukranina team (Metalh... ?) would've been on a par with Slavia, but no where near as good trips-wise. Everton would have been a good glamour draw though.
Second leg at home is a winner - hopefully Cork can do the usual 'surprise' act away and then baton down the hatches at home.
When are the games being played ?
look at the post over yours....i have alreadty pointed out my mistake...they are currently 8th in their domestic leauge......i reckon we av a good chanceQuote:

I'm optimistic that you lot can get a result out there and with a bit of luck take the tie.
If ye can keep the score down to a margin of -1 with that away goal or even a draw (score draw) than its all to play for at the X. Besides with direct flights to Prague from Cork, I'm sure you can have a further 3 days to rack up another round of unpaid lapdancing bills. :D
My verdict: too close to call.
Dinamo Bucharest to be exact! ;)Quote:

weren't slavia prague the crowd that lost their seeding because liverpool were allowed in??
very tough draw. cant see cork getting through. with a bit of luck they can keep the tie alive out there, and maybe sneak it at home, but i'd be doubtful
Away Thursday 15th, home 29th. Shame it wasn't Everton.Quote:

Just checked Aer Lingus. 208euro, that's going out on the 14th and back on the 16th, from Dublin
The line of form through Anderlecht, Gent and Bohs would give Cork every chance of going through.
I think Cork can get a result with this tie. They arent world beaters and Cork are playing very well. Plus the away tie is first which is very fortunate and travelling there is straightforward.
That won't be long changing :rolleyes:Quote:

Very tough draw, away leg first gives us better chance...
Wouldn't think it was the toughest draw. They lost 4-1 to Anderlecht in the last round of the Champions League. They have 3 or 4 full Czech internationals and about 5 U-21 internationals, so they'll be tough but I reckon we could upset them....Quote:

Cork better watch their changing room... ;)
This is a better draw than Hamburg or Everton.
These guys are not Spata prague btw.
Last 12 years' results in Europe from their website... Nothing too impressive, particularly recently (apart from beating some crap Irish team 6-0 in 1994! :) ). Reckon they'll win, but COrk should be good for a draw somewhere.

Cannot really say if it's good or bad as I know nothing about them.
But here's hoping you give them a good game. Tough, Physical, blood and guts type, even get through to the next stage and forget about this little tussle with Derry for the league. Or at the very least be abosultely fcuked after the 2 legs and lose a few important league games
Good luck ;)
did you get on to eric stu??
I did yeah, cheers.
Most off topic post I've seen in a long while! :)
€548 with CSA from Cork direct to Prague leaving 14th and retuining 16.
UK based low cost airlines all fly to Prague from nearly every medium sized airport. It's probably the best bet if you can't get a reasonable direct flight from Cork/DUblin.
Easyjet and bmibaby both fly a couple of times a days to Prague from Nottingham East Midlands Airport. I know that bmibaby flies from Cork to Nottingham and Ryanair flys there from Dublin.
Their record in recent seasons is far from daunting & nothing past about 2-3 years means anything.
They will obviously be favourites but we have a chance.
Here is their squad

No famous names that I can see there. If City get an away score draw or win then I fancy their chances.
Can someone merge this thread with 'city draw prague' ?
Slavia Praha now have details of the draw on their website:
http://www.slavia.cz/novinka.asp?id=11261&typ=
"In any case there will be no underestimation from our side, we respect a quality of a team that eliminated strong Swedish opposition, but out of the possible opponents it is the one that was more favorable for us," Slavia coach Karel Jarolim said.
