What are th weird songs you.ve come across? Songs that make no sense or their message seems very strange.
I think "Nice Weather For Ducks" by Lemon Jelly is one. The only words in the song are "All the ducks are swimming in the water...." :D

Try Aphex Twin for real weirdness
The Ocean Doesn't want me today off Bone MAchine, Tom Waits.
Then again, alot of Tom Waits songs fit the bill.
Awful song, a pity too as they had some good ones in the past.Quote:

The Virgin Prunes had a few extremely weird songs. They got one that just constitutes of the sound of birds flying around in an empty building... Minimalistic to the bone that is :p
Still like the views of this band though. Can't help but thinking they're more respectful than their fellow Lypton Village folks U2. The Virgin Prunes are no less talented, but their music's just not mainstream enough to score big time. Sticking to their own style rather than trying to go commercial, is very respectful on the other hand.
For weird sounds: Abruptum. Horror sounds collages without real music or chords being played, and the screams of "singer" IT while he self-mutilates... Kinda myth act, see the Metal topic for that...
Lovesick Blues by Hank Williams - supposedly nice middle America country music with wholesome lyrics - chorus reads more like a rap from the hood.
Quote:
She'll do me, she'll do you
she's got that kinda lovin,
Boy I really love it
when she calls me sugar daddy
Used to be Michael Jackson's theme song :DQuote:

Unless of course it was a certain type of snow that was consumed during it's composition/recording... in which case it all makes perfect sense :p
how about ghost town by the specials
That was about the economic decimation of England North of London under Margaret Thatcher... all the clubs closed down, because nobody had a job or could afford to go out... hence Ghost Town.Quote:

Who said the americans don't get irony?
Born down in a dead man's town
The first kick i took was when i hit the ground
You end up like a dog that's been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up
Born in the u.s.a., i was born in the u.s.a.
I was born in the u.s.a., born in the u.s.a.
Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man
Born in the u.s..a....
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man said "son if it was up to me"
Went down to see my v.a. man
He said "son, don't you understand"
LA FOLIE by The Stranglers It's in French... but the story, which is true, behind the song makes it weird:-
Commemorates a Japanese student in Paris who murdered his girlfriend, chopped her into pieces and kept her in the fridge so he could eat her later...

On the other -it's about a ghost GI in Vietnam. This made the top 10 back in 1986.
And it was near the riverbank when the ambush came on top of us
and I thought it was the end, we were had.
Then a bullet with my name on it came buzzing through a bush
and that big marine, he just swat it, with his hand.
Just like it was a fly.
Woohoohoohoo Camouflage,
things are never quite the way they seem.
Woohoohoohoo Camouflage,
This was an awfully strange marine.
And I knew there was something weird about him,
cus when I turned around he was pulling a big palmtree
right up out of the ground and swatting those Charlie's with it,
from here to Kingdom come
