New thread for the season.
@Fruice who is the East Cork team ? Any ideas ?
Heard knocka and watergrasshill going 1st division.
I see parkview back training after folding last season hopefully keep it going.
2 temple teams gone, killumney, Glenthorn b anyone else?
Jeez that would be sad to see Ard Na Laoi go a traditional club they kept things going along time.
They were only advertising for a new manager 4 days ago
Knocka contacting all the usual "big hitters" in the Northside
Anyone know is there any truth in a few of the coachford players following there manager and leaving Coachford behind?
Talk up around my way is hes after getting involved with Macroom Seniors. Don’t know how true any of it is tho
That would be the end of this era of invincibility surely. Opportunity for some team.
With all these suggested moves going on who will emerge from the pack in Premier.
With Coahford maybe in transition and Knocka Celtic returning will they take from the likes of Grattan our Glenthorn.
Could Corkbeg or Springfield step up or maybe one of the new comers Grangevale or UCC.
From what I'm told Coachford will be still a force to be reckoned next season and will have pretty much the same squad.
I’m hearing watergrasshill are team of the year ..congratulations to them but some call they didn’t win their league but won 2cups you would think a league was a requirement for that also 1cup was a reward for not being good enough to win a higher ranking cup .
Coachford were best team, deserved to get it.
Premier & AOH double.
Mossie Finalists.
Out of Cork.
I suppose the fact Watergrasshill are new winner helps and they had a brilliant season.
I think Coachford won it last season which came against them and their carry on in the Mossy final wouldn’t have helped also
Ya know what Mr Musrard, u are right.
Last season was a disaster planning wise,,,,,hard to say anyteam was given a fair go,,,,,,the Aul will choose who they want either way
ant and most of us won't care
Springfield were looking good towards the end of last season see if they can build on that.
Corkbeg under new management who are looking to distance themsleves from the GAA crowd.
A lot of the GAA lads left them down last year once the GAA season picked up. They might struggle for numbers
Have knocka been assigned a division yet or made any signings ?
Seems to be no response what way the divisions are going to be spread out or even how many teams will register
Apparently the league
To be fair the league is fairly consistent you normally only see the divisions appear around the 1st of August.
So I don’t see anything unusual in this.
They obviously need to see what teams are returning and also incorporate new teams.
The no relegation should make things easier for them
Any results from pre season games? I know you can’t look too much into them but might give you a little indication of who’s strong!
Hearing Castlebridge who failed to get out of the blocks on Day 1 last year and Harp Celtic joining Division 3
Knocka beat Blackstone. Any known players?
Nocka Celtic played Blackstone the other night, Nocka looked rusty but I suppose any team would be after coming back after such a long break. Any other friendly results
Will Knocka be competing for the AOH again? Be a good contest for them up against Watergrasshill in Div 1 competitions.
Springfield 8 - Corkbeg 2
Glenthorn 4-5 Everton
Village beaten 1-0 by Jaybazz in the shipping league, could be another long year for them
Watched the game today Village v J Bazz.
Village had great numbers , lots of life left in them.
Loads of young lads as well.
J Bazz didn't have that strength in depth.
Will reserve judgment on them as it was just a pre season game In July.
No real stand out players for either side , just a good blow out in a pre season game .
Great crowd though an even if its a hill , the pitch looked really well.
Any whispers on the divisions?
Should be out this week if they are going to start games the week of August 14th that’s just 2 weeks away
Just my own judgment, they haven’t strengthened, it’s the same core as the last few years where they have struggled only yet another year older. Any team in the AUL premier should be beating business league teams apart from maybe doolans, a few years back village were beating doolans convincingly every time they played.
There’s about 6 junior teams in mayfield at the minute so I think they’re going to feel that competition when it comes to getting young fellas to come up and sign
Mayfield ,,,,,there's an inigma.
Imagine if they got there ****e organised. AUL,MSL or Buissness League they would clean the slate.
