this is a very important game and it is in between our two second qualifing round uefa cup games. Hopefully we can have good support up threre.
wouldn't write us - or Shels - off just yet, Pete; we're 15 points behind but with 2 games in hand - one a home match with Pats which we should win, the other, much tougher, away to Derry. On the plus side, in the 3rd series of matches we're home to all three teams currently above us - with a last match against Shels; so even if its between the 2 cities by ten - and I think Derry will fade a bit - it could be a contest for top team in Dublin
Don't rule out Rovers yet. We've fifteen games left and if we can win them all, and if every other team can somehow not earn any more points, we'll easily win the title.
i think it's still a three horse race. cork, derry and bohs. bohs are the form team at the moment and got a great win last night. derry -v- bohs will be a huge game. i'd love to see that one on setanta.
Cork v Derry on the the 14th in the Brandywell should be on Setanta, irrespective of the result against Bohs
i think the longer cork and shels stay in europe it will benefit bohs!! cant see derry keeping up the pace!! dont count bohs out yet!1 brilliant game at dalymount last nite!! foley is a legend!!!!!!!!!
I'm gonna have to say it looks like a two horser atm, Shels, well they havent moved on from last season nor Have Drogs, but my haven't Derry :o
I'd say it's a 2 horse race alright with Derry and Bohs battling it out come November. Too many people at Cork that dont know what it's like to win something and to be honest I reckon they'll choke when the pressure comes on.
Down to 4 teams after last night, Drogheda are gone for this season.
Between City, Derry, $hel$ and Bohs.

First ye said we'd struggle without Doyle but we've scored 27 excluding his & which is more than all other clubs excluding Shels.
Then ye said City wouldn't cope with being top of the table - they've increased confidence & now are playing better every week.
Then ye said would struggle with all Euro games - last week travelled from Lithunia-Cork-Drogs in less than 3 days & still won with 10 men.
Even playing a 41 year old 3rd choice keeper cannot stop us.
Everyones waiting for City to slip up but no sight of it yet. The best one i;ve heard is that we haven't had a bad spell yet so we due one & then Shels will catch us - Looking at another could say Shels have no lives left, 1 more slipup & will be much too far behind. City can even afford a bad run & still lead the table.
If any bookie would take bets on the league i'd be investing in City now.
How do you figure that one out Pete? IF we win our game in hand we'll be only 4 behind you...so how could you afford a bad run? Unless you envisage a bad run being one defeat... .Quote:

League is between Derry & Cork City. If we go on to win the league i really hope Derry City rub it into the dublin media & take 2nd.
I would have Derry favourites for the Cup. Cork City v Derry City final would be great day out!
Would be a real surprise if the title ends up in Dublin now.
There are 4 teams left in it, but one of the 2 Citys have the most realistic chance of winning it........
It'll take a mircale for shels to come back into it, but Derry are realistically only 4 pts behind us and bohs have the potential to do damage in their games in hand. It feels strange not to be working out what results we need to catch the leaders.. we ARE the leaders. all we have to do is keep playing the way we are and we'll win. it'll even be weird if we dont win the league on the last day of the season... sure wheres the heart stopping tension of derry only managing a draw and handing us the title with 2 games left. ;)
You don't want it to go down to the last day, Rico doesn't do last days...
Thats why hes trying to win the league in October ;)Quote:

Bohs have done well recently but have no quality back up for Grant & Foley.
I recon you're a closet City fan! ;)Quote:

IMO, if we don't lose a game between now and the end of August (especially the Shels and Derry games) I can't see us not winning it.
Even if we beat you in the Cross we wont win the league, the gap is too big now. I think Derry wont have the consistency over the whole of the season that you will either, it's definitely Corks title unless they throw it away.
you might have to change your signature then :)Quote:

You got to fancy Cork, but if it gets nervy near the end of the season, I'd rather have Kenny than Rico in the dressing-room.
The way we're going, you'd better hope we get nervy in the next week or two so :pQuote:

I know exactly what you mean. A run in the intertoto? Its only worth doing it when you're the first club from your league to do it, just to gain some publicity- not worth anything after that :D :pQuote:

Actually Shels won't have the Inter Toto salvage even. This year's is the last ever isn't it?
Jaysus we're finished so :(Quote:
