Stuck in work today :( Any chance the U-21 game is on the web or radio anywhere?
Team: Deeney; Foley, McStay, McShane, Paisley; Flood, Whelan, Potter, McGeady; Murphy, Tabb.
What a midfield!
"fai.ie will have regular updates from the Herzelia Stadium during the match."
Dilighted for Paisley to get a start :)Quote:

Wonder how the new back 4 will get on together. Actually, new back 5 when you consider Deeney.
Different kind of player, Murphy is a target man but he equally as good on the deck. Deffo the most menacing away striker at the Cross last season.Quote:

The Republic of Ireland Under 21s have suffered a terrible start to their clash with Israel conceding two goals in six minutes.
Israel took the lead in the fifth minute when Yaniv Azrane headed home a corner from Moshe Ohayon and one minute later it got worse when a Ohayon shot was deflected past Saul Deeney by Henry McStay.
Teams:
Israel: Almadon; Iluz, Keinan, Chaymovich, Siam, Abutbul, Dajani, Ohayon, Cohen, Azrane, Arbeitman.
Ireland: Deeney; Foley, McShane, McStay, Paisley; Flood, Potter, Whelan, McGeady, Tabb, Murphy.
Referee: D Tanovic (Serbia and Montenegro).

Still 3-1, Isreal denied penalty about 4 mins ago.

:( It was the first time anyone in that defense started a competitive afaik so couldn't have expected much defensively but that midfield was something else. Anyway, at least the likes of McGeady and are senior players for the rest of their careers now as we can't qualify.
soccerc - Did you watch the game? How did our lads do (who stood out, etc.)?
Jesus lads.I hope to FCUK that their senior is not this good. Surely our u21s could not have played so badly.
Was at the game and we were dire, McGeady apart, I can't see anyone from this team making it as a senior player in the top division in England let alone making the move up to the seniors.
Well that result should dampen any high expectations for the senior match
tomorrow, a draw may well be a good result.
Best make sure we are not 2:0 down after 10 minutes, take away the first ten
minutes and the result doesn't look that bad.
Cautious start recommended.
Well Potter is highly rated at Liverpool, ditto Flood at Man City, in all likelihood Whelan will be playing the Championship next season, I'd expect at least one of those 3 (probably all 3 to be honest) to get a senior capQuote:

Givens is talking about looking to the next set of qualifiers already. Seems to be saying that a lot, it really is time for a new manager at that level to take over.
Givens..He has to go now.He is brutal.
