Andrew Buttimer isn't going to help our cause.
Will we play a second string? Harps might. Game the following week is bigger for them. Might still be for us as well.
Can't see a second string. McDonald is only settling on a team now, would be foolish to go chopping and changing after we scored our first league goal in six years last week.
For anyone who is planning on attending both the back to back Harps games, The Samaritans number is 116 123.
Surely have to go full strength for continuity at least. Another 3 or 4 points should see us safe so a cup run would put a good finish on a dissapointing season.
I'd agree with the last two posts, time to string a few wins together and in no position to pass on the FAI Cup anyway this season.
I'd be upset too, if we made a semi or even got to the final it would put a very welcome complexion on the season if allied to a mid table finish.
Dont concede first and we'll be fine. But expect our attendance to drop over the two games as their physio will spend half an hour on the pitch
Looking at the highlights of the Bohs game, if Limerick were to improve their chances to goal ration by even 10% they'd be flying it. Harps are perfectly beatable, recent results aside, and are more focused on the league than Limerick. With a week between games there's no need for squad rotation.
That, and considering that half of the final 8 will be teams below us in standings/leagues, means we have to give this a full go.
Also a chance for both teams to scout each other out.
Lucky for him Soccer Republic only has an hour.
A repeat of last week's team performance is necessary to prove it wasn't a fluke. If they play with the same vigour and intensity again I'd be very confident of pulling away from the bottom group.
Noel O'Connor joins me again tomorrow for live audio analysis of this...intriguing cup-clash. Tune in to www.mixlr.com/limerick-soccer-live, from 6.25, if you can't make it.
Make sure you give the gramophone handle a good whirling before dispensing your wisdom tomorrow will you ? Very weak and intermittent again there lately O'Brien, ruined my match day experience.
Yeah, I meant to reply to your PM on that. Apologies.
I must say that I've had no other technical complaints, from anyone, in quite some time.
Given the size of our listenership now, I'm sure if there was a problem on that side, we'd hear about it fairly lively.
Could be a problem on your end, I'm afraid.
Anything less than a win here would be sickener. Cup run would rescue a very mediocre season. Plus we don't want to give them any confidence going into next Friday.
Yeah, plenty of far-flung listeners -- including at least one who lives in New York -- without any reported issues so far.
Hopefully, it'll be alright on this particular night.
Harps are shocking. Their players spending more time rolling around the ground than actually playing football.
Hoping for penalties are they ?
Their no where near the box. I don't think they even had a player in that area all first half. There were at least 5 stoppages to treat Harps players. Absolute muck they are.
Hoping for a penalty shoot out I mean.
Looking like it.
Quarter final so lads, another win, a clean sheet, I don't expect much discussion about it as it's good news but that's the way on here.
Non league side at home and all the big guns to draw each other Monday night in the draw please.
Happy with the win but fairly laboured stuff tonight. Lynch and Ogbene were poor I thought, lots of poor decisions. Coughlan looked sharp as always when he came on. Harps diving makes them the pantomime villian, sure, but we need to be better at creating opportunities.
Great result, overall performance poor enough especially first half .Delighted O Connor scored ,Coughlan produced a fine cross, also good sub call by the manager to change things around.
Was anyone else's eyes bleeding? Absolute torture to watch but at least we are in the next round.
Delighted to be through but Harps are poison. I really really hope they're relegated. Looking at their remaining fixtures I think they're gone if we beat them next week.
Am I right in thinking McAleer now suspended for 3 league matches? That's a huge blow for them, one of their top players this season.
Should be but not sure if it will have kicked in for Friday or not.
Awful game tonight, we have been tearful to watch at times this season but Harps take the biscuit. No interest ever in actually being a football team.
Expect more of the same Friday but maybe more commitment from Harps....we will have to be a lot better to open them up.

Two wins in a row, hopefully same result next week. Lack of Harps threat upfront very obvious, even just listening along. Fantastic chance to get into the last 4 now, if we get the chance to host/take a nice to trip to Bluebell or Longford. When was the last time we were in the semi's?
Our crossing is so bad at times. The amount of chances we had to put in a decent ball and it was too short of way over hit was so annoying at stages. Was as happy that Garbhan actually put in a good cross as I was that we scored from it.
Thought Garbhan changed the game though was a whole lot of nothing playing in front of em before he came on . Bastien is really taking the opportunity handed to him too worked all game. Was happy with young William Fitz when he came on thought he did well. Please god we get a decent draw now.
Kenny is a busy, hardworking player, but he can't cross to save his life. He knows it too, always tries to cut inside rather than just cross.
It's frustrating that Garbhan seems to do better coming on that starting. He was excellent when he came on against Harps.
Harps will be a different team next week. If they start Houston and Danny Morrissey up top they could cause us problems.
First half was truly awful stuff second half bit better but if you came in second half you would not have though we had the extra man we were that poor , garbhan brought a bit of quality when he came on he's frustrating when you see how talented he is but start him and he fails to deliver , would like to see it again but sending off seemed really harsh I know the player did not complain but it seemed a nothing challenge youd wonder would we have won if they had not lost the man we created **** all over the 90 mins , id be worried about next Friday going on that display , berki while he put himself about does not look to have much quality does he struggled big-time
William fitz was impressive when he came on tidy player
