Whats holding up the money
is the way previous grant aid was administered by the FAI and spent by certain clubs to pay their day to day running expenses. There is a Dept. of Sport investigation into this and the FAI have to appear before the Dail Public Accounts commitee in relation to this and other matters.
John Delaney tried to put the total blame on the clubs after the licensing failure last week but this is as much an FAI Problem as an EL Problem. This was one of the main reasons John O'Donoghue Baulked at Delaney and his sidekick Peter Buckley being installed as CEO and Financial Officer and why he is also insisting that the FAI dont have a majority on the imterview board for these jobs.
There are also a number of clubs who have not drawn down money previously granted to them due to a number of areas which they have not met the criteria including having money of their own to match the funding they are receiving.
