Paul Mc Gee most skillful player I ever watch, full of himself though!
You haven't been watching LOI football for very long have you?Quote:

Recent/Current:
Pat Morley/Stephen Napier/Kevin Doyle - Cork City
Martin Murray, when he played for Home Farm
Mick O’Brien, Athlone Town keeper, absolutely crackers, entertained the crowd every time.

patsy freyne. pat morley and paul osam come very close.
in the last few years, I'd go for Kevin Doyle and Georgie
the late jackie jameson (who died at a very young age/early forties i think)
was thought by many neutral people to have been one of the most gifted players to play his entire career out at home.
an absolute gentleman as well.
Stephen Geoghegan and Tony Sheridan would be the two obvious ones.

Davie Barry.
Harder to pick opposition player but would have to respect Osam (even if he is doubtful) &Kevin Hunt..
The aformentioned Pat Byrne, superb player!
Noel Larkin was another amazing player any time i was lucky enough to see him play!
koh
Obvious to who? - apart from Shels peopleQuote:

Pats - hard to call, but Ozo just shades it for me ahead of Eddie.
Others - Liam Coyle was always the one opposition player that absolutely terrified me, which is as good an indication of any of pure talent.
Is favourite different to the BEST? Coz if it isn't, I don't understand why Liam Coyle only gets 5 votes.
Bobby Browne
For what its worth i though about putting him down ... it is a hard question in all fairness, .... i think it is a very hard call to be honest.Quote:

Liam O 'Brien in his prime for Shamrock Rovers..absolutely fantastic!
George O 'Callaghan..legend!
Liam Coyle......
Im only happy I was able to witness him play through his entire career, right up to his very last goal in his very last match to relegate Finn Harps. Classic end to a career.
Rovers players - Tony Cousins, Gino Brazil, Peter Eccles, Trevor Molloy.
Non-Rovers - Tony Sheridan, Liam Coyle, Paul Osam.
Ben Hannigan and Paddy Shortt.
Anyone too young to remember them, you can't even begin to imagine what you missed...

I went to my first League of Ireland game back in 1972
goalkeeper defender striker
Ok past players ( pre-1979) Richie Blackmore, Al Finucane, Brendan Bradley
Turlough O'Connor. The last two were the top two goalscorers in history until very recently. Bradley is still the leading scorer but I think Pat Morley has eclipsed Turlie.
goalkeeper defender Attackers
U.C.D. players ( past) Alan O'Neill, Ken O'Doherty, Darren O'Brien and Mick O'Byrne
Other clubs too many to name in one short posting.
Pat Morley would definitely be up there in the strikers category

I'm not describing that very well but it was a total reaction/instinctive goal, brilliant stuff ..... you'd have to have seen it, great goal !!
Has to be Zac Hackett.
Dave Barry and Liam Coyle. I died laughing at the rovers nominee :D s.
Jackie Jameson, Liam Coyle, Paul Osam.
at the moment - Kevin Hunt
