Not trying to be pessimistic, but I wouldn't be overly hopefuly about finding the happy coincidence of a) an English pub with an Irish Skycard (or at least one that openly admits it on the phone if you're ringing around), and b) one that is happy to show Irish club football of an evening.
Bin the NTL when your contracts up and get yourself Sky. Then you can watch all the televised Irish footie from the comfort of your own home. Delightful... :)
if i was to get sky, how would i get an irish sky card
plus, as im moving back home in august, i wouldnt fulfill the usual 12 months subscription
ive never been tempted enough to get sky before now
On NTL in Ireland, Setanta Sport is free with their basic channels. You only have to pay for it if you have Sky.
Get an independant installer to set get you the set up (i.e. not one of the free but connect to a phone line offers), or get onto one of the sat forums and investigate how to do it yourself.Quote:

You'd get RTE1&2, TV3 and TG4, but lose BBC3&4, News24, ITV1&2, CH4 and five. Saying your moving could be a way alright, or cancelling the UK Sub and then taking out an Irish Sub from an Irish address.Quote:

For Irish Sky subscribers you can get the card only for the British channels for £20 but you need a UK address that has a TV licence. You can then swop cards in your Sky box or get a 2nd box, twin lnb and cabling done. ITV2 and Five have good european football coverage.
This means you can dump NTHELL.

If you do what I said in my previous post you'll be sorted. I've had Irish Sky in London for 2 years now.
Easiest way is for you to open a Sky subscription in England, then a short while later claimed you've moved back to Ireland with your system, saying what I said in previous note.
Setting it up from Ireland is a ball-ache way round - they'll physically nail it to a wall for you in Ireland, you'll then have to dismantle, transport and re-install the whole system to a wall yourself in England, or pay someone else to do it. Significant and unnecessary hassle. All you need is an Irish address for the Viewing Card to be sent to (and for the invoices moving forwards, but pay by credit card so they're just for information).
Just checked their web-site, and Sky have a FREE installation offer on at the moment in Britain.
It really could'nt be easier....
