And with a four-year contract I assume a loan to a league team will be on the agenda soon enough.
Former underage player Gerard Nash to take over as U21 coach at Ipswich: http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-n...-be-u21s-coach
I went to school with a lad called Gerard Nash, so the name stuck in my head when he was called into Ireland squads
Had a quick search on fai.ie and found these three U17 games from 2002:
VS Germany: http://www.fai.ie/ireland/match/23/2003/69550
VS France: http://www.fai.ie/ireland/match/23/2003/69551
VS Slovenia: http://www.fai.ie/ireland/match/23/2003/69554
Some familiar names there, along with the usual "where is he now?"
I went to school with a lad called Niall Quinn. Shortarse who was useless at sports.
Not sure if this has been posted before but former U19 cap Matty Mainwaring is now a professional boxer training under Ricky & Matthew Hatton

Just a mention for youth hawk which is a great website for keeping an eye on Irish lads in youth and under 21 football in the uk unfortunately doesn't do Scotland. Brighton seems to have the most Irish underage players at present there academy head was our under 15 coach a few yes ago I think . An interesting one on it is a Leicester city lad keaveney who has played for us and been involved with Hungary as well. Seems to b a few Irish strikers around in uk youth teams which is good.

Wexford Youth's Ryan Delaney set to be offered a deal by Burton Albion, but it's a case of "don't call us, we'll call you" for Jay Tabb: http://www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news...n-3195692.aspx
Quote:
"Ryan Delaney is off back to Ireland this morning, he’s a cracking lad and we would look to try and get him fixed up if we can. He hasn’t played at a high standard in football and doesn’t train full time, that’s why we brought him off today he was a bit tired."
Quote:
“With Jay Tabb, he is a great professional and great lad. We haven’t ruled out bringing him in but for the time being we are waiting to hear back on a few of our loan enquiries for wide players so we aren’t in the position currently of bringing him in.”

Vite Mannone's picked up an injury, so they've no backup keeper, could see him into the squad V Southampton this weekend
They never should've let Westwood go.
edit: strictly speaking, O'Shea is back-up.
