Premier Division side Longford Town FC to face First Division Athlone Town in pre-season, no date or venue yet announced.
If it's in the Irish pre-season (ie peak British season), they definitely won't
I doubt anyone is expecting a full squad. Will get the barstoolers in though so happy days, few quid.
Yes, sadly. This will be a barstooler takeover! It could be U18 squad and they will all flock to Oriel.
Is there a huge Everton support in Dundalk? Liverpool XI has been a decent earner for Bray and Waterford, but it's hardly been overwhelming. I'd say a lot depends on how Dundalk are doing - if the buzz from this season is maintained into July, it could be a decent draw alright.
We had a united XI over two seasons ago and it was our highest attended game (1800)of the season bar the play off final and that was on a Tuesday when it was p1ssing rain. Stand was full 45 minutes before KO. Only 'known' united player was Joshua King and the keeper Sam Johnstone but Januazzi (awful spelling) did play that day but was a total unknown at the time.
The Barstoolers also flocked in for a liverpool legends match a few years ago with over 1000 in attendance.
Was there 1,800 at it?It was an awful day, I remember thinking of how many we could have got in if it wasn't raining. Had never heard of Januzaj at the time but I remember him standing out.
Having said that our other "big name" friendlies against Millwall and Celtic the year after drew very poor crowds and I'd imagine we ended up losing money on both.
There were about that many there alright. I think Michael Keane might have been involved that day too, in terms of players who played in the first team afterwards.
Yeah the stand was sold out and about 300 stood around the pitch, your spot on about the other friendlies it just goes to show only united/Liverpool reserve teams will draw a crowd, no one wants to see XI's anymore even though that was milwalls first team but the first time we played them drew in about 700 which was good for us at the time, getting them over again was a flop.
Erosion caused by urine? That would have weakened the mortar in Bray alright.:D
Shamrock Rovers playing LA Galaxy in Feb
February 21. He said something about Sweden but I assume the match will be in Dublin.
If there is no big attractions on in Dublin that day, the game could sell-out?
It's during the Six Nations so might be a hard sell.
Should still sell out if it's in Tallaght. Can't imagine Lansdowne would be required for such a game. Never more than 15,000 going to a game against LA Galaxy surely?
Have to rename Tallaght the Robbie Keane Stadium now. Sure he's even played there!
Rovers v galaxy confirmed for 21 Feb. 4.00 Kick-Off. Rovers always manage to get good friendly matches

Has any team said when they get back on training?
Think most clubs are back at some point during the week.
