Why is that...That will be a disaster. Would there not be a much bigger crowd on a Saturday?
I'd say that they'd be more on Friday but thats not the point. What about people who need to get time off work or make travel arrangments? I think the whole thing is very unprofessional. Why dont they just fix it that all games are played at the same time on the last day of season and leave it at that ?
Well on past experience we get much more for Friday games than Saturday onesQuote:

If you want to change the date of a game within 10 days of the original date don't you need the away team to agree?
i think there will be a big crowd at this game no matter when its played. It was advertised up to now as being on a Saturday so they should just leave it at that.
Its on the official website so it must have been agreed with Bohs. I don't agree though. Too close to the game to change the date now.
We'd be going mad if we were away as it would affect arrangements for travelling fans.
I think tickets should go on sale straight away after tonights game ,i say it be a sell out weather or which
it will be a fullhouse if results go our way tonight. rte and tv3 better fcuk off :D or we be jinxd
i wonder which ground will the cup be at on the night if it gose down to the wire.
I wish they would make up their minds :(
If City and Shels win tonight then last games will affect final positions and according to EL statement must be played on Sat 20th.
Playing on Friday is fine by me (as long as it's not Sun. afternoon, viva la floodlights), I just wish that for once they stick to a plan and stop fcuking around and changing their minds on a whim :(

That implies that those 4 clubs have agreed those arrangements and if City and Bohs both win tonight the game will be on next Friday.
I think its a joke that we're even discussing the date of the last series of games so close to the date they were set for.
The league shouldn't have left it open to clubs to move those games once Saturday was decided.
again, on a purely selfish level, i hope it goes ahead on friday!
as for the games needing to be played simultaneously, as shels also play fri nights, it would suit them too.
Finally, while i agree with the confusion this creates - although it's not that massive a logistical deal to change plans in fairness - are people not agreed that attendences are highest in cork, regularly, when played fri nights??
^^^
There is no doubting that Fridays are by far and away the best night for City, and probably most other clubs in the country as well.
I just think its a joke that the KO time cant be decided 1st day, whren the fixtures are being made. It creates havoc with peoples plans.
It doesnt make too much of a difference to fellas who are living in Cork, but what about the exiles who were probably happy that they didnt have to take another half day? Or others who have now made plans for next Friday?
Why the hell did all the Friday night clubs have to change to Saturday in the first place? Why couldn't the couple who normally play Saturdays have changed to the Friday?
That said, they should just leave things be and play them all on Saturday now...
This is the crap that kills our league; making it up as we go along!
Donie
If I was a Bohs fan planning to go to the game I'd be disgusted that Bohs had agreed to a change, after probably making travel/accommodation arrangements.
Why did Bohs agree? Surely they'd have a better support on a Saturday and they get no beneift from City having greater gate receipts on Friday.
as an exile, i was pleased i'd be definitely able to make the game, no pressure. then at the last second it might be changed. if i'd known i coulda factored in the friday, now i've got to scramble to make sure i'll be there. once the change to saturday had been announced, it shouldn't be changed again, and all teams should have to play at the same time, regardless of whether it has an impact on the final standings, it adds to a sense of occasion.
Isn't there dog racing on in the Branywell on Fridays? Would this be the reason?Quote:

Dunno, Schumi - but maybe we should just get Bord na gCon to run the league altogether if that's the case. In any event, I think Derry are playing in Waterford...?Quote:

Does that mean its possible that they will change it, or does it mean it will go ahead next saturday???
Munster are playing at Musgrave Park next Friday.
With a big crowd expected for both games, the gardai may object.
Dolan on radio just said that next Friday will be a great night.
The game is definitely Friday at 19.30. But, WHO CARES what day it is?!! It will be a cracking night. City have that UEFA Cup place and we could possibly win the league. I can't wait!!!!
COME ON CITY!!! :D
Do city need to score 7 goals more than Shels on Friday?
Is goals scored the deciding factor or goals difference?
I'd say that if the 2 teams finish level on goal difference, goals scored will be the next option.Quote:

We need to win and have them lose. 1-0 will do as long as Shels blow it/Pats do us a huge favour and remember their 'stolen' title :) . Shels just need to avoid defeat.
Be mighty interesting, I have a feeling...and I'm not without hope, no sirree!

agreed. I reckon pats might just do it. regardless of how it goes, its been some achievement for us to close the gap so much. absolutely brilliant effort from the lads.Quote:

If the park and ride fills up quickly lads there is always the #3 bus which passes by Turner's Cross lads if I am not mistaken. I seem to remember getting on it in Patrick Street. ;)
