Goal at 1:40 here - nice control and tidy finish.

Great finish. That poise augurs well for the future. He hasn't even started a game yet and he has already scored.
Drennan has yet to score in 6 games though.
Scored our two goals v Romania.
Man Utd tweeted their approval
Supposedly his cousin is David of Talking Heads. Take that, Morrissey.
I doubt that, but his brother Adam plays rugby for Leinster and is in the Irish U20 team that will take on Italy tonight.
I actually suspected he might be related to Nicky of Westlife!

Aul Nicky was a pretty handy footballer though by all accounts too... trials at Leeds I think.
released by United this morning, hope he can get a contract with Carlisle or somewhere
That's disappointing. Hopefully he can find a new club at a good level and rebuild.
He's destined for Stevenage if rumors are correct.
Bad week for the Byrne's family as Adam is injured and misses the U20 RWC. Sam has a bit of potential, reckon he might be one for the future. Experience at the lower levels now will help him develop possibly quicker than hanging around Utd's reserves.
Claims on here that Byrne has signed for Everton. Nothing official, but hopefully there is some truth to the rumours!

More on the unconfirmed rumours linking Byrne to Everton's academy team.

Everton recruit Sam Byrne; Harry Charsley signs his first professional contract.
Excellent move. If you look at it in the context of the league standings, he's moved to a better side! Very positive to see him going to Everton rather than Stevenage or Carlisle, at the age of 18 anyway. He'll be exposed to better coaching at Everton and if things don't work out he'll have a longer slide down the leagues as opposed to having to push up the leagues if he had gone to Stevenage or Carlisle.
EDIT: Things might not have been as dour as the earlier Carlisle and Stevenage rumours after all; this article reckons Celtic were interested also- http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...-30313693.html
Charsley played in this u18 game, but no sign of your man Kenny, Bonnie. A lot of Irish names (as expected) in this team, are any Irish like Liam Walsh for example?
http://toffeeweb.com/season/14-15/news/27940.html
The diaspora in Liverpool is such that the place is awash with Irish names but they are a generation too far out to qualify.
The lad Kinsella is highly rated. From Dublin. http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...-29933813.html
Starts for Everton reserves against Southport today.

The twitter feed on that link says Richie Baker, a trialliist, has just put Southend in front.
That Richie Baker?
He must be about 40 by now, cant be him.
Only 34.
But it's not him.
Byrne taken off at HT along with 5 others.
Byrne has desire to reach the top: http://www.kildare-nationalist.ie/20...reach-the-top/
Really could do with a good loan move this season with a view to a possible permanent move to a Championship or bigger League One club next season, should he not be in Everton's plans
Lukaku's injured now, but realistically he won't be in their first team plans barring a massive pre-season. Hopefully he's fit enough that his coaches will think he'll benefit from a loan at a club at a decent level with a view to eventually making a push for the senior squad.
Suffered freak leg break yesterday in training

A rite of passage for every talented young Irish footballer.
not much of an update, he helped out with the other members of Everton's U23 team at the Whitechapel homeless charity over Christmas: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport...stmas-12335733
and posted this on his twitter when some of the patients from Alder Hey Children's Hospital visited the Everton training centre: https://twitter.com/SamByrne200/stat...38585703292929
Can't find any mention of him playing for the U23 side though
He's been hugely unfortunate with injuries, but is lucky insofar as he doesn't have to look far for inspiration to fuel a comeback. His brother, Adam Byrne, bounced back from back to back broken legs to make the Leinster first team this year and isn't far off of the Ireland squad.
Byrne made his comeback for Everton's U23s a few weeks ago: http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2017/0...hted-to-return

Sam Byrne says a new one-year contract at Everton has given him a “big boost” after an injury-hit couple of seasons with the Blues.
Interestingly names in Evertons 25 man squad. Positive but not sure exactly what it means his chances are
