Ramblers 1st Div for 2012 .... thats the word on the grapevine anyway
Well ive spoken to 3 players that say they are signing with them in the 1st.
They will struggled to get support as long as the current Chairman is in place.
So many long time supporters have lost faith in the club, so it will take a long time to presuade people that it is worth spending money to watch a badly run club that went backwards since being in the Premier League.
What a waste!
Congrats to you if it's officially confirmed - only question seems to be whether there will be a 12-team division, which would see all the clubs granted a licence, or just ten, in which case it would be just yourselves and Galway.
Cobh Ramblers could be set for a return to the League of Ireland First Division......

Would be great to see them back in the league, always liked the trip down to Cobh.
i really hope we get back in, and ill be looking forward to reigniting some old rivalry,
i just hope theres still enough people interested in the club for us to succed, some fairly bad rourmours have been spread around the last few years, and a lot of people have become disillusioned towards the club, hopefully the change in the top management will help that,
this is gonna be one long road back, but im happy to take it, anythings better than the A champ
Ya are in
well you must know more than us.. no movement yet with regards to 1st div..wont know until feb 19th as far as im aware .. i being told no budget is there until the board is appointed by the fai and more than if there will no money what i hear 60euro a week ..and if he is from limerick how will he pay his exps .. as far as i know there will be no money for pay players as there a debt of over 500k to clear ..most if all the players will be playing for nothing.. i spoke to players thats with the club for 4 years and have not heard anything from dave hill and that was yesterday .. i dont even know if hilly is back because there is talk greg h is going as manager.. i hope ur right
mail today had cobh, galway devon and fc carlow in the new ten team first division.. no mention of tralee dynamoes?
i dont see any reason we couldnt draw about 3-400 by mid season, i think the lack of a regular schedual the last few years has affected our attendances, (it had noting to do with A chapionship ;) ),
no point in getting ahead fo ourselfs, gonna be a long road back but if we can get off to a decent start i think the crowds will come out and support the lads, as they always have in the past, the support will always be there but actually getting the bodys into the ground is gonna be our biggest challenge id say,
Best of luck with it anyway lads.
Cant wait to renew old rivalries next season if ye are in.
ditto
Load of Rubbish!.
I play with a local junior team in Cobh and we have 5 of last Seasons Rams A-League team with us. One of them recently requested a transfer form as they were of the opinion that Rams were going back LOI next Season.
When his transfer form was sent to the FAI it was returned. - They said and I qoute, ''that the transfer form could not be completed, because at this current moment the FAI dont recognise the club the player wanted to transfer to. ie Cobh Ramblers (Snr/LOI) Football Team''.
In plain-mans-terms there is no team registered to play LOI currently! . . . so tell me blue/white how can this player you speak of sign anything for Cobh RAMBLERS unless he was registering with their U-19 team?
While you were busy writing out this comment you could have taken the time to read the every next comment i made after i had said that.
Seen as you dint bother here it is He has a form signed may not be sent away yet but its signed.
Try take the time to read the rest of the thread before you start a rant to clear something up that (A) Has already been covered by another Cobh poster and (B) Has already been cleared up by me to that same poster.[/COLOR]
I do think you were pretty clear and I understand what you said .. maybe the very upset poster didnt read it fully.. again I like to thank your Club'' Limerick'' and Mr Pat O Sullivan your Chairman for his support in sponsoring the club two years ago when no other person in Cobh would.. otherwise i think the club would still be wearing 5 year old gear..
Looking forward to travelling to Limerick in March ..
Also to send a transfer to FAI .. Cobh sec must also sign it and I dont think that would happen until he spoke to DH and as far as I'm aware no players have been aked to transfer .. but I was told he is meeting most of last years team Sunday
Blue/White,I have read ur posts and all other posts since u stated ''Player that has signed for COBH''.
What Im saying simply, is that at this moment and officially there is no COBH - Dont get me wrong, I for one would love to see LOI footie back in Colmans Pk.
But at this moment watever has been signed, is about as useful as signing for Jane-Doe Utd FC on the back of a Fag Box... they both mean nothing. Watever has been done with this form or has/is to be done with this form isnt what Im talking about!.
'@ the sub' - ur comment about ''maybe the very upset poster didnt read it fully'' !. Ive read it fully!.
Believe me, I aint 'upset' - . . . Ive far more pressing/important matters to be worrying about.
Maybe the form you said with regards to not have being signed an returned back from the fai..to your club .. and if the fai who now own Cobh Ramblers fc..dont know what happening who does.
the limerick poster was making a statement and it must have been correct if you stated one of your player had a transfer form and you confirmed so maybe its the same player.
does that mean you will be loosing 5 players on sunday to jane do united fc .. aka Cobh Ramblers..
as you said if you have more pressing/ important thing to worry about .. then you have nothing to worry about..
i hear the board is set up and ready to go ..hence the players meeting sunday..
I could guarentee 100% its not the same player!!! - dont even think Blue/White would know this player even if I named him!.
More pressing/Important things I have to worry about-that would cause me upset, certainly wouldnt even come close to being an upset poster as you so mentioned previously.
Regarding players meeting Sunday, we wont be loosing 5players.
Finally, I hope there is a board set-up, would certainly mean, things might be a step closer to LOI football back in Colmans Park.
